    2000 Lincoln Town Car

For the people who have the newer panthers,

I have a teacher who has a 2000 TC, bad window motor. Can't get the door panel off. It has like every luxury feature. Heated seats and all that stuff. All these switches are on the door panel. What is the procedure for removing the panel? I would really like to know soon because he needs it done and he has failed inspection due to the window not functioning. This is the driver's door. All other windows work, the switch has continuity, and I've noticed that when the switch is engaged, I hear clicking from the motor. The window cannot be moved at all. So all help is appreciated. Please reply soon. Thanks, John.

There may also be a dead spot in the motor. My mom's '97 Taurus has one, and once in a blue moon the window will get stuck in the full down position. A quick whack on the door panel and it goes right up.

Check the tech section at lincolnsonline.com. There should be info on pulling the panel and rebuilding the regulator.

I dont know if TCs are the same but on my old 2000 the switch panel pop right out. Disconnect the switches, undo the screws in the panel (some can be hidden) and use a door panel popper to get at the clips that hold the panel on without breaking the clips.
