tail gate window motor

i put a new tail gate window motor in and it only
operates in one direction and i cant use the front
window motor switch i can only use the key lock
to raise it up i switched the wires and it goes down
only
whats wrong

Sounds like the contacts are bad on one side of the switch. I had the same problem with my Lincoln, I just changed the switch.

If the motor runs at all, its good. I'm also thinking the switch is bad. My seats were doing the same thing, worked one direction only. Took the switch apart and cleaned all the contacts and it works fine now.
