    Wiring

Is there any wiring that goes to the headlight (PI72) that can be used w/ a toggle? I still have the original toggle for the flashers, etc, I just don't know where they plug into....

I have tried to make my "wig wag" lights work for far too long (using factory wiring). I have turned up nothing. I finally ended up ripping out all the extra wires; there was a whole lot of them on my car. There were a total of 8 headlight sockets in the front. WTF? One set (of 4) just didn't work. The switch that is in my car from the factory is rather large, and I've noticed no less than 6 wires leading out of it. From personal experience I'd say just start afresh and make your own set up, with a new switch, wiring, etc.

Well, you probably don't need to go to the fuse block. I know that Galls' sells the wig wag set up for modern headlights. You have to cut into the harness to install it. It really depends on what you want to do.

You really want "wig wag" lights, or are you trying to do something else? The wig wags require some kind of flasher to operate the lights going on and off. I am not sure if it is still in the car when it is auctioned or not; it probably depends on the town.

        Here's a link for said flasher: http://www.galls.com/style.html?asso...og&style=FS039

There are some wiring diagrams available right on this page too. This flasher may or may not work, I really don't know.

If you're ignorant about wiring, you are best off buying a kit of some kind.

          Thanks...

Thanks, but I was hoping to re-attach the old one, but I suppose I might have to run a new flasher setup...Any idea where I could find a wiring diagram for the whole car?

They aren't in the factory service manual. Maybe in a side bulletin or appendix to the factory manual. There are other people here who would know where you can find them, like Gadget or 85CrownHPP.

I know nothing of police equipment. I could give you the light wiring pages for an 86 Towncar but thats not directly useful to you. A lot of that police equipment was dealer-added, so its entirely possible you won't find it mentioned in any factory literature. It probably also varied a bit from dealer to dealer.

You'd probably have to talk to the people at Whelen. They make all the police lighting equipment, at least for the police vehicles I worked on, it was all Whelen.
