    Dumb and dumber

    Dear Panthers,
I wanted to attach a moderately heavy cell phone holder to the passenger side dash, so I bought some superglue. It worked but dribbled over the dash. Hell of a mess. So I looked up what would remove superglue. Acetone, I learned. So I borrowed my wife's nail polish remover. Yep, got the glue. Also ate a big splotch in the dash finish. It never occured to me that the dash had a clear lacquer? finish. I thought it was pure plastic. Cell phone holder still works but I've ordered a new dash.

      Dear Panthers,
Pete Veitch has the biggest collection of NOS panther parts and he's very reasonable. Donald McCaig

If the old pad is in decent shape, you could just spray dye it. That would be a tad less expensive. I can't bring myself to use any NOS parts on my car. I'll buy them, but not install.

Yes, he's talking about WagonMan. Also he's just talking about the passenger side "wood" piece...not the pad and everything...Also I found out awhile ago that armorall cleaning wipes will remove the silver on the "Grand Marquis, too..

That's funny, I do the exact same thing. I feel like I'm building up a war surplus, and I get paranoid certain parts will be impossible to find in the future. I've got a tip regarding cleaning the dash pieces. I found that regular Lysol w/ water cleans everything (dash, simulated wood, and all the silver/chrome accents) without removing paint or damaging the surfaces. Just use one of those cheap microfiber rags you and you're set.
