    Door locks and Power windows.

    Hey mangs,

Well i have had my car for about 3 months know and I would like to fix up some "problems" it has.
Well, when i lock my doors the only one that locks is the rear passenger door. the others dont work. So, how do i fix this?

While I'm on the subject both of my rear passenger windows work for teh moment. but when i , for example, raise one of the windows, it reaches the maximum it can raise, yet i can hear it grinding. same goes for lowering teh window. i lower it to the max and i can hear teh gears grind as if it doesnt know when to stop. sooner or later I'm replacing then. So what do i need to fix this?

All of this im going to do myself(hopefully), because when i first got my car both front , driver and passenger, windows didnt work well. my father and i took it to a mechanic and he charged us $225 for everything. he said he replaced the motors and gears. so because im young and dum i would like to do this myself. is there anything i need to do this? any tips? tricks? ect?

Thanks to anyone how respones to my question.

Rear windows need new plastic plugs in the gears. They're $7 per side. Remove the door panel, locate the dimplles on the sheet metal, and drill them with a 1/2" drill bit. The 3 screws that hold the window motor in will be accessible, just use a ratchet and a 5/16" socket. Pull the motor out, and remove the phillips head screw on the plate over the gear. Clean the goop and broken chunks of plastic out. Install the new plugs and a generous portion of white grease. Re-install and enjoy your properly working window motors.

Can you lock your doors manualy, or are they really stiff? Might be that the lock motors were removed or unplugged. Normally when they fail, the locks can't be operated even manually, they seize up.

Yes i can lock my doors manualy. the only stiff one is teh drivers door. i got a pic of one of the motors for the driver rear door the one on the left is is when its not locked. the other is when its locked. looks pretty old and riped up. i belive i need a new one but its going to be a pain to remove... i havent looked at any other door. when i do ill check and c if its anything simple like it just unplug or something. hopefully ill do that within this week.
