    AutoMeter Speedo Question...

So, when I talked to my uncle, he was explaining something to me about this new speedometer...

the stock speedo cable is designed to Snap-in...but this AutoMeter one is designed to Screw-in.
he says he will get it to fit, but just in case....is there any adapter kit or anything I can get to make it fit right and not runa risk of it trying to fall off?

just for reference, here's my Speedometer

Ideally I'd try and use an autometer product if you're going the adapter route. I have scanned their web page and found nothing of the sort though. I think a new cable would be your best bet.

Perhaps you could contact autometer and ask them. I've used their tech help email before and found it very helpful (malfunctioning tach).

I thik its Allen Bradly and or Stuart Warner has supppliers that make up cables and some adapters you would have to do a search on custom sppeedo cables.

                Don't use an adaptor.

which one is the right one...I see 2 different ones for the C6,C4, AOD...

                  SP-1502U $56

                  SP-1503HT $87

I sure hope I can get away with the cheaper one just as easily.

They look the same. Just one is the hi-tech finish and the other is the black finish. I know Lokar always offer there cables in Hi-tech or regular finishes. I think thats why the two came up for your app.

well...a general idea...I had a buddy drive next to me and keep his speed at 45mph...at that speed in 3rd, I rev about 2100...so as long as I stay under 2200rpm, I'll be fine.
                              35mph is around 1700rpm I think.
so, I pay atention to that and flow with traffic.
you know you're a hardcore car mang if you learn to drive by Engine speed.
