    OMG, the car is silent!

finally got around to replacing/fixing the center dash support. WOW! No more rattles, squeaks, or dash jittering. Didn't weld a bracket in like I had planned. I just made a 1/8"x1/2"x4" bar that bolted to the support and sat inside the old broken bracket. Works great. Seems like a completely different car now.

Got any pics? My car has had most of the metal sub-dash deleted. I now have the world's best example of perpetual motion right there in front of me, lol.

Good work. Can't stand any noise. Even if it was small, such an annoyance.

Here are the pics, the other hole in the bracket is for a nut and bolt to hold the old bracket to the new. I just haven't gotten to it yet. The second pic is what broke off...

Mine squeeks over bumps mainly, and it gets worse in during the winter as the plastic contracts. I think the sun and heat have warped some of the dash components over time and I'm sure some bolts could be tightened here and there. All in all, much less noise then a 3 year old Cavalier makes.

Removing the subwoofer could help quite a bit with that rattling ....
