I'm hoping to add some gauges into the Vic next year to more closely monitor everything thats goin on. I had a Mini tach installed, but I had to delete a Couple things to make it work, But it stopped working, so I pulled it out, since it was only a cheap one. I really like how blaze has mounted the gauges in his vic, but his has a totally different dash. My cars probably never going to be show quality, but I like things to look like they came from the factory, not butchered in. for the tach, I melted off the vent with a tip on my soldering iron, and made a plastic plate for the tach to sit in, then melted it back in place. I thought it looked good, but I didnt like having to sacrafice a heating vent. so anyone got any ideas, or maybe some dimensions or plans for building a nice clean looking center console just for holding gauges on the floor? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2225012/2 some pics of my old tach install, I deleted the pictures so I cant make them an attachment, just scroll down till ya see em. Oh, and mind the blue, I dunno what I was thinkin but its all gone now.

Yeah, looks like there is a fair amount of room on either side of that speedometer to work with. Ever see the factory add-on guages used on a police model 90s Vic? Those look like a total hackjob and its factory. That dash design just makes it difficult to add things without looking added.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

It would take alot of hacking to get it like yours blaze. I may go get another speedo assembly for experimenting on. how deep are your autometer gauges. I know my cheap junk tach was like 2.5 inches deep. As for the wiring, I hard wired my tach in, and found it to be a complete pita when I had to take the dash back apart. Do the better quality gauges have a plug on the back, so you can just unplug the gauge? I know i'm not describing it very goodsigpicVic Videos Here http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...676#post243676

About the same as yours. my gauges go all the way through the cluster, and stick out the other side. with the studs for the mounts ground down to just tall enough I can fit it without cutting the dash behind it, but then you have to cut it to get the wiring and oil line in.
If you go here you will see I drilled all the way though, and had to cut the no longer need parts of the circuit sheet.

I think you should put them where the police cars had them, but not a hack job. I think theyd look good there if its done well.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements
