    "Thud" in turnk

OK heres the situation. I Have a couple subs up ont the spair tire deck in the trunk. They are held in place buy some rope because I dont exactly want to bolt them into the gas tank. Every once in a while when I take off & when I turn at high speeds I hear a deep thud from the rear passenger side. It sounds like its in my trunk. Is there anyone in here with the same type of problem? If so what the hell is making that sound ?? It is NOT my subs I am not that stupid. I took out the subs & it still makes the sound. Please tell me its nothing serious. I dont think its outside of the car. so that means its not the diff.

Hard to say. Exhaust banging on the floor, bad/missing spring isolator, factory jack moving around, something fell down behind the carpet on the side and is banging around in the quarter panel, bad U joints, horribly wiped rear control arm bushings, bad shock / shock bushings / rubber donuts at top of the shock. Have you tried removing absolutely everything from the trunk to see if it stops making a noise?

Could be a loose shock, possibly worn bushing somewhere.

                    Not a loose tank

One thing I know for sure it is not the gas tank. When I bought the car it had a leaky tank & that was the first thing I replaced. I made absolutely sure it will not come loose because I have had one fall off on me before.

                        Tank

Yea I had a ford LTD ( I don't remember the year) for about an hour. After driving around for a little while I noticed I needed gas. I went & filled it up all the way, drove for about a mile & thenBOOM . There went the tank. I was close friend with the guy I bought the car from so I didnt really look it over before I bought it. Both the straps were completely rusted through. So need less to say I learned my lesson.

                              Gas

Well my buddy that I bought the car from gave me my money back. So all I was out was about $20. So I didn't really mind. It was just a work car & I wasn't going to keep it too long anyway. I maen hell I only paid $100 for it.
