If I were to get a new speedo, I can swap over my odometer, right?

Not really, though you can change the milage on the other speedo to match the acutal milage.

Yea but I hear that's a PITA. I know the face of the speedo seperates from the rest, but if I did that...would it be acurate? Since it's a 140 face on a 85 unit..

It won't read correctly. You need to change the odometer. It's not that difficult to do at all. Masking tape is a big help.

I know in the 90+ dash you can. I swapped my odometer, and trip odometer into my 140mph cluster.

When I changed one I used a drill on the one I was putting in so it read the same mileage as the old one....You Know ..to be honest about it.

I just said fuck it and swapped it in. I wrote down the difference between the two. If I get bored I guess I can get a high speed drill and add miles.

Only took me like 20 minutes to pull the odo apart and set it...

Pull the pin far enough out to let the numbers spin freely, set the milage, put some tape on the numbers to hold them in place, and put the pin back in, and remove the tape.

I had my odometer stop working cause the motor broke its little plastic tab mounts and ripped some teeth off the main gear that spins the odometer. Pulled it apart, pulled out the pin and set the numbers to my mileage, put the pin back in, and reassembled. wish I had thought of the tape then. It was a bit of a pain, but not overly bad.
