We now have yet another 'improved' 194 LED bulb to test....
Thanks to boxmang for finding them, I just bought a pair of these:

they are supposet to be 1 full watt of LED power - we shall see!



you'll have to wait a week or so for the results though... Im going to try them out in the speedo cluster

well they are definitly too bright to look at, and they do have the killer 180deg spread they are supposed to.
I havent tried them in the speedo or anything cuz when I tested them out they got kinda warm.
but then boxman reminded me that regualr 194 bulbs got more than warm...
So I dunno these bulbs arent UL listed or DOT approved for sure so Im worried about putting them inside something lol.
I guess I could stick em in my speedo right quick just to try.

If it's that bright it is probably too much. The 5 led bulbs are already brighter than needed. But those would be good for courtesy lights.

hmm may be an option for the 88-89 towncar clusters........not very bright with the 5 led bulbs........doesent have the little domes over the cluster like the others

If it's that ridiculously bright, can't it be used for stoplights?

I havent seen any 1157 or 3157 "tower" replacement bulbs with this type of LED yet, but if I did Id get some becuase they'd sure kick ass.
This 194 bulb would probably work best inside aftermarket gauges like autometers that use these bulbs. I dont think they would fill an exterior lense as well because they dont shine backwards at all like the 5-led ones.

and driving lights and turns for an 89 vic?

yes they make those too - all my exterior bulbs are LED, Oval LED towers and 5-led 194 replacements.

I used APC led bulbs before but that company is a hit or miss with those parts

yeah some of the older style bulbs sucked... hooray technology advancments!

yeah tell me about it I would spend 10 bucks on something and only have them work for a month it's aggravating!
