Hmmm, you latch it and then it closes, seems kind of pointless now if it dose'nt pull the lid down and close the trunk on it's own.I can push my Trunk lid down and it latche's and close's at the same time,no need for a motor to do that for me.No offense or anything petemang,it's still an excellent mod.

custum did you watch the video? it shows you how it works.
And you're right its not really needed - but when the idea popped into my head and i relaized how easy it would be if it worked out, I had to do it!
Plus it helped give me my fix while larger projects are still developingPete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

Newer Townies have a motor that will open the trunk fully and then close it. Its controlled from the key fob too.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

hhmmm maybe I should get those dayum vacuum solenoids sorted out so I can finally put on the mustang valve covers!!!!
When I had my chrome valve covers on with the CFI all I did was lengthen the wires and vaccum lines and mount it on the fender. I covered the wires in convoluted tubing and that was it.

hey mercMarq thats what I wound up doing, except I used only the EGR solenoid from a CFI fox body donor (smaller brackets).
The evap solenoid/valve is getting evolved to the one-part type seen in newer boxes clipped on the passenger front fenderwell. The throttle kicker/choke pulloff is also going to be run off the same type evolved solenoid, tucked away out of sight hopefully.Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

I finally finished off this project... the other day I tucked the wiring away better and made a little cover for the gizmo.
I used a trunk carpet out of a 90's TC, which has a stiff moulded portion covering the gizmo, unlike box TC's that have a cardboard box.
I cut out that moulded piece and cut out a piece of the 85's carpet and this is what I got.
If you look up close you can clearly see its two pieces overlapping each other, but it does the job

Hm, I had a plastic cover for a trunk sucker off an 80s box. Its not built into the carpet though. The carpet in my car came from that car, its got a big cutout in it, and the plastic cover would have screwed to the sucker motor itself. Wouldn't surprise me if at some point they got cheap and made them cardboard though. No idea what year car my parts came from. I seem to have lost the cover anyway and I never got around to installing a pulldown motor.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
