like it says, i've got an 84 crown vic with the little windows that you usualy find on a truck and i can't get the chrome nob to open the small window off the car. i mean there is no set screw or retaining clip that i see any where. i also need to know how to get the arm rest/pull handel off the door either , so for all i've found is one screw holding it on but the panel seemsto be held on by more than that. i need to get the interior panel off the car to fix the power window motor . thanks in advance.

The arm rest comes off with a bunch of screws. You need to remove the ashtray/window switch assembly to get to most of them. Also you will need to remove the lower wood trim piece on the bottom ofthe armrest to acces a few of the screws. After that, the panels are held on with a bunch of clips.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

There are like 4 or 5 screws in that armrest. Some of them are kind of hard to see.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

o.k. mine is pre- ash tray and window swiches in the armrest thingee. mine has just the armrest thing with the handle to pull it closed built in with the lock nob and the power lock swich in the arm rest. the power window swich is located further forward on the door right about where your knee would touch the door when sitting in the seat. i also need to know how to remove the giant chrome turn nob for the little vent window that is at the top front of the panel . i just cant see any way it comes off.sigpic"I love it when a plan comes together." The knob just comes off if you turn it hard enough to the left if i remember correctly, if that isn't it than you have to pop the little aluminum circle glued in the center to get to a screw.

to get the armrest in, slip a long flat screw driver in between the top soft part that you put your elbow on and and lower part. Think of that part as a "lid"...
The soft part is wrapped around a ard plastic base, make sure you get under the hard plastic with the screwdrive or you might tear up the soft part.
the 4 or 5 screws you need to remove are under there.
I need to get a pic of this...Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements
