Had a day off from work so I got some time in with Mercedes….
Front wheel hubs (inner and outer bearing) as well as rear rotors and pads were the task.
The new bits next to an old set of rear pads:
Donzo:
Front hub assembly removed and spindle all cleaned:
New hub in place:
The old hubs in the boxes:
Entire job went really smoothly. Only hiccups were the driver’s side rear rotor fighting us during removal. Funny, this car has only one pad wear sensor in the rear and it is on the passenger’s side. Did the drivers side first and then was surprised with this sensor. New pad did not come with one but luckily it swaps over fairly easily. Its just small and thus a bit fiddly.~David~

You really need to get rid of that thing. You're going grey!
Interesting that it has hat rotors and hub bearing assemblies that can be serviced. Usually you see sealed bearings in those types of hubs.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Yeah If I wanted to fight with the hubs more I certainly could have purchased inner and out bearings minus the hub. I like the easy remove and replace sometimes.~David~

Oh yeah. Passengers side fender on the doppelganger was stoved in, bumper covers had numerous punctures as well as the trunk not closing fully/aligning correctly.
Swapped on the winter wheels and tires as well as changed out the oil and filter to the engine. Next change at 114k. Presently a little over 109k.
Cleaned the summer wheels and tires, clayed and wheel waxed them in preparation for storage. Front hubs had no play in them. Possibility that they needed to be tightened up some after a few miles but all was well.~David~

Decent weather prompted me to get the Benz ready for winter.
A week ago I detailed the Mercedes interior, also clayed the exterior windows and rainxed them. I compounded out the front windshield as well as the wipers were sorta etching the glass. Looks good now.
Today I Washed, clayed and then sealed the entire car. The wheels were douched down as well.
Washed with Meguiars ultimate wash and wax, clayed with a fancy pants clay mitt and then rewashed with Meguiars wash and wax. Finished off everything with Meguiars paint protect sealant.
I love the fall scenery.~David~

I have no idea what half that stuff means, but the fruits of your labor are quite excellent And I'd also be terrified at the mere thought of curbside-parking this thing for any number of reasons...The ones who accomplish true greatness, are the foolish who keep pressing onward.

So let's say you lost oil pressure on the same route. You pretty much have no choice but to destroy the engine?1990 Country Squire - under restoration
