Blaze, you got a stick shift in that car? How'd you do that?

          Soooo envious...lol

That shifter looks so tall it'd hit the dash, but I'm guessing that's not a problem? How's the position height wise? Is it pretty comfortable?

Actually the position of the shifter is great. Those pics are with the shifter in 1st gear, so it's as close as it's ever gonna get to the dash. I was going to cut it down and all but after I got the seats in I found that it wasn't bad at all. I might move it a little towards me to make 5th smoother.

I'll be making a more detailed post on the conversion process for me some time.

It does look pretty good. I don't have a lot of experience driving stick-shift cars, but I've heard of people (A/FX drag racers) putting gangley brackets on their shifters to bring them up close to the wheel. You must've gotten a very long shift lever!

Oh, and the seats look extremely comfortable for autocross use. Have you posted more details on how you mounted them?

I don't autocross, that's Mike (MRLTD). No haven't posted on them yet. But their isn't too much to post. 3/4" X 1-1/2" (1/8" wall) aluminum tubing, is all I used. I put a single bend in it for get the right angle for the floorboard on the rear part, and then drilled the holes for everything.

Sorry - didn't realize your track events and his were completely different categories! Nice that your rails pretty much lined up - my Mustang seats have the rails set a good deal narrower.

I had to use the rectangular bar so that I could offset the seat bolt holes inwards from the frloorpan bolt holes.

Those wheels are HPP wheels painted black, no I did not paint them. I bought them with the tires (245/45/R16 Hoosier Road Compound Slicks) and was told they were on black wheels. I had no idea they were on HPP wheels, so the $80 I paid for the set of tires turned out to be a sweet deal.

As Homer Simpson would say "Sweet Merciful Crap!" What are those seats out of? Cant wait for a writeup.

The seats are new MRC real leather seats. The link is in my sig (right after the Auto Meter Link). And here.
