To lighten things up - an actual bona-fide trooper-mobile from the eighties/early nineties (GSP, in this case). The two-tone blue/silver and four squares in the front are what I dreaded seeing in my rear-view when I was out flogging one of my Mopars as a young man!

Ah a 91 CV with the stainless lower trim. That was a end of year/body style car. The excess stainless which was used on the LXs was used on some Police package cars. The 91s I used had the stainless. It was my favorite car as far as comfort and being roomy.
I have seen the Javelin at police car shows. I think I have a picture and can post it when I find it.They were fast.

A couple of months ago there was a similar story to the one @Mainemantom has told, in Poland. There is a middel-aged couple who drive an ex-police Volkswagen Passat B3, the car that has been decomissioned some 10 years ago, and there was a complete redesign of the Police colours since then. They used to visit many fairs with their car (roof lights detached while en route), usually being invited by the local policemen. At some point, they were pulled over while driving back from a fair, jailed and accused of impersonating a cop, threatened with serious charges. The cops have even shared the story on the official FB profile of the Police, making fun of them and their uniforms (which were actually civilian shirts and ties, in a colour similar to the old cop uniforms...). This spawn certain outrage, as the Police is already relatively disliked, as they are believed to be fulfilling political orders...

TBH I am still fighting the urge to import a fully-rigged CVPI, covering the flashing lights and using it as a daily driver. Wonder if I could still get one in a reasonable price and ship it to Poland...


BTW, I recall a "State Pooper" ex-cop car on some photos - not sure of it was Caprice or CV.

In addition there are people that will damage a police car "just because". Trust me,the fun is NOT worth the trouble.

I can attest to that. I have a red SAP p71, people just don't give two shits about letting their doors slam into it thinking its just some fleet cop car (its red ffs, we never had a red cop car in this city, or even anywhere in the area) the sides are full of zebra stripes. Didn't have it a week when I got a major ding at the local hospital--a place I parked my MGM often and never suffered a single door ding.

Street Appearance Package, for P71 models. Chrome (civilian) grille, regular CV badges instead of Interceptor badges. I think that's it.

Also why did you post in russian, I don't think many here understand... Do you know russian? Roots from such countries?

AHHH, I get it now, and yes I'm familiar with that, thanks! I have a friend who owns one of those, I'm surprised it didn't occur to me! (Admins, perhaps add to the helpful acronym list...). I work in the aerospace sector, and it's "alphabet soup" there, too, so I'm used to it! Second only to the military!

I posted in Russian because they're Russian Crown Vics is all No Russian in me as far as I know, mostly German/Scots/Scandinavian going by the DNA thing.

Thanks. "I like to keep my fire engine, er, uh, police engine clean - it's a clean machine". (DerekTheGreat, for one, will get this reference.)

It's based on an old used car salesman trick - they high-pressure wash then spray bomb clearcoat on everything. I wash lightly with dish soap and water (I'd rather have a little crud stay, than blast off paint, decals, etc.). Then I hose everything in sight with WD40 (Water Displacing!) until it's dripping off stuff. Then idle for a little while and drive a couple miles to cook off the "volatiles". Leaves a nice, new, not too shiny look, hides a number of stains, ills, etc. Another upside is the WD40 residue helps loosen up the stubborn stuff for next time.
