Bottom one was holed out. I took a hanger bolt, epoxy, (well they all got epoxy) some wood splinters cut to fit and jammed it/screwed it in there was pretty secure. They other fit flawlessly....I have three left, thanks again dude.Last edited by Grand1; 09-28-2023, 08:15 PM.

Did he have anything to say about the process? Some pieces of trim have an anodized clear coating over the polished finish that hazes up over the years. Is he stripping the coating and then polishing? I am just curious about what is going on and what they are doing.
Looks super shiny!~David~

Yeah, from what he told me he has an in with the expensive car restoration businesses , where he can dip the trim in the chemicals....thats a $175 charge. He then will polish, remove the top layer to the shinny stuff. All in all, this will cost me about $400... [EDIT cost me $500 and I had 10 pieces of trim]
that's for 6 pieces of body trim (I have all NOS wheel well trim). Considering the prices out there for trim(if you can even find a decent one), it the most cost effective way I have found.Last edited by Grand1; 10-22-2023, 09:51 PM.

Nice. The older cars had very specific trim too. Large and span from fender, down rocker etc. Big pieces!
I heard you can use draino (or similar pipe clearing products) to strip the coating as a diy alternative but have yet to try it out myself.
Gonna look awesome.~David~

Sounds like he's doing it right. Wonder if he reapplies the anodizing? Or just keep it polished.1990 Country Squire - under restoration

To get it reanodized, that's some cash,if you want showroom. It will just be polish...one would have to get at a certain angle 4 inches away from the trim to begin to see any imperfections or pitting, after his process is done.
Painting day is here....lots of prep to get to this point. Keeping it OEM color
