Nice. May have to remove fuel rail to make that fit. Not a huge deal.~David~

Started on another small project for Sherrie while I'm waiting for the machine shop.
I have a cupholder that was in the car when I got it. I like it but it really does a shitty job of holding a cup of steaming Joe. One corner and it's spilling everywhere.
So I thought about adding to it.
A couple PVC schedule 30 3 to 4 inch unions fit the coffee cup perfect and fit into the existing holes. I'll trim down the bigmouth opening and attach them to each other.
Then I got the bright idea of adding the oil pressure and water temp gauges to it. More to do yet but you get the basic idea.
My original plan was to put the gauges in the ashtray, but this kinda hits my switch a little better.

Ever think if putting gauges on the A pillar,? I have the pods.

My big decision right now is how to paint the white cup swallowers. I'm thinking black, but...we'll see.All FORD All The Time

That is looking good. How are the gauges angled? I used PVC in my 94 escort do do similar with the factory console in that car. Love it. The volt meter in that car just blended right in.
Can scuff up the PVC and hit it with a quick coat of undercoating to get a texture then coat with black or whatever color. SEM also sells special texture paint that will help mimic original texture of interior panels.~David~

Your work is always nice man. Good idea about the undercoating under the paint. All FORD All The Time

Started with a well weathered '86 piece.
Walnut shell blast and sprayed white by Big Dogs porting with the same epoxy white as the rest of the intake. Picked up some azure blue off E-Bay, and this is the first coat. Not sure if I'm going to sand the white off and polish it. Sometimes less is more.
The red decimal is happening too....

Here we go ya'll.
Got the word from the speed shop. Sherries 347 is ready and I'm going to go pick it up today.
When I have the throttle cable bracket mounting all mocked up, I'll get some pictures for our mutual benefit. All FORD All The Time

Pix of Sherries new heart still in the cradle. The people at MidWay performance/Predator cams know I'm anti-Fram. They're ballbusters in a good way.
So of course they sent it home with a new orange can of death in place. Anybody need a PH8A with no miles?
Here's what it is.
'88 block. Recovered from a running rotted out GM. Given the full basic treatment to ensure it's worthy.
All oil passages smoothed, chamfered, and optimized.
They have reamers as long as your arm, and inspection cameras to basically test drive every inch of your oil passages. Cool stuff man.
Melling standard volume severe duty oil pump and pick up tube. Disassembled and blueprinted. Needed no adjustments or mods.
Melling makes good parts in general, but ALWAYS check your oil pump.
ARP oil pump drive shaft.
Studded mains.
Canton windage tray/girdle. I was truly surprised it fit with the stock '88 oil pan and the studs.
Scat 347 steel crank. (cast. I didn't go for forged because the block will break long before this crank)
Scat H-beam forged rods
ICON forged pistons. Total seal rings.
9.93:1 so I can run pump fuel of 89 or better. All I run is 93, so no worries for me.
Full balance. This is the 2nd time I've used a SCAT 'balanced' assembly that wasn't balanced well. It sure as hell is now.
SCAT Flex plate and used a Summit balancer because SCAT was out of them at the time and cut them a break.
Used AFR 165 #1472 smog legal heads that were fully housecleaned and checked. New springs.
A friend had them from new and they only had 3 weeks use on them.
TF push rods... (6.125 length I think.)
Vintage FMS roller rockers for these pedestal mount style heads. Went together without a hitch.
Here's the cam card
I got the cam with the heads. It was ground for his 331 and a supercharger.
Torque was the goal on his build just as it is with mine, thus the relatively small cam.
This should match well to the flow of the ported intake and 75mm TB.
From a straight CFM perspective, the heads are the choke point.
The ported Explorer intake outflows the heads by a bit.
New FMS 303-R roller lifters
Accel Distributor that I found on FB marketplace (I think)
More pix coming soon.Last edited by clutch47; 05-17-2021, 10:32 AM.All FORD All The Time
