Got my new Illinois Antique plates in the mail today.
2 weeks to get the plates is a pretty damn good turn around for the "state that works"

Looks good, but I suggest upgrading from the Mercu to the Mercury. Its two better.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Well got it out of the garage today. Went on a nice cruise.
Heading back to Chicago I notice the trans wouldn't shift into overdrive, so I pulled into a NAPA, and popped the hood. TV grommet was intact (I have the updated one) but the cable was slacked out.
Crawled underneath and lo and behold, where the cable goes to the metal arm, was full of old caked on silicone lubricant. Went inside and got a can of PB blaster and a brush, removed it, cleaned it off and soaked it in PB. Re attached, and lubed with oil, and back to perfect AOD goodness.
Crisis averted today. Enjoyed the rest of the drive, and took it out again at night.
