Odd question, and I may be remembering this wrong, but wasn’t there an all metal radiator used in the early Aero cars? I swear I’ve seen some Town Cars with them.

-1979 Ford LTD Landau (38K Miles) - New Cruiser -1986 Dodge D-150 Royale SE (112K Miles) - Slowly Getting Put Back Together
-1987 Grand Marquis Colony Park LS (343K Miles) - April 2017 + September 2019 POTM Winner
-1997 Grand Marquis LS (244K Miles) - March 2015 + January 2019 POTM Winner - Sold (05/2011 - 07/2024)
Kinda makes me want to add a new radiator for the '98 to my parts stash.
Never had one blow a side tank like that. When the one in my '97 went, it had mysterious coolant loss for probably 6 months, then started steaming and I couldn't tell where from exactly other than "from the radiator" so I ordered one. Rock Auto screwed me over on that, it was back ordered, and a week later I still didn't have it when the radiator started pissing all of my antifreeze in my 7 mile commute. So I bought one locally and changed it on a nice balmy 25* day mid-January in my driveway. To make it worse, I finally got my RockAuto order 2 weeks later and being aggravated with the whole situation I ignored it for a couple days by which point it had been over 30 days since I ordered it and they wouldn't take it back. I never could tell where exactly it was leaking from, the whole bottom third of the thing was dripping wet.

+1 never had one fail that bad. I've had the pipe connection break half way around, leaks from where the tank met the core, leak at the trans cooler ports, and just get completely clogged with sludge though.
Goes too fast! My daughter is three next week and son is 5 in March. Time flies

Drivers headlight died on Tuesday night.
Air ride only works when the car is running and I smash the vent solenoid with a ball peen hammer.
