Haha thanks gentlemen. Exhaust always sounds pretty ''macho" when I floor it lol but the phone camera doesn't capture half of the sound here running the electric dumps wide open.

I'm in sarnia an hr or so from London ont. Do all the racing at the grand bend strip. Not having to hold a phone for a select race while doing a million other things would be nice lol.

cONGRATS sounds similar to my first trip to the drags with Creamy. Pulling up to the line could see everyone in the stands pointing laughing at Creamy. Next run they were not laughing as I pulled up and staged.

Thanks turbo, i find after the first run happens everyone just loves the car aha.

Motor is the stock block, freshened forged piston HO rotating assembly/bearings/ARP hardware (50k ago). Freshened GT40P heads that I only gasket matched on the intake runner mouths, stock size valves with comp behive springs and 1.6 roller rockers.
Comp xe258 cam with stock manners, explorer upper and lower intakes
(all this stuff was running 15.2's a few yrs ago at the car's heavy as hell weight)

I recently cut open the upper and did major restructuring/porting including making it actually sized to flow for the 75mm tb, puddled aluminum in all the lower runner kinks where needed and ported it heavily (but keeping small as possible runner diameter). 30lb injectors (hitting 75% duty on them @ 13.3afr) and a tapered cold air intake pipe with turning vanes (102kpa atmosphere = 103kpa in the upper #8 runner at wot). Ms3x computer with full sequencial injection and 8 coil ignition. Elec fans/slight underdrive crank pulley. After 40 runs with a pile of tuning at the track... the car dropped a full second which has me pretty damn happy reaching high 14.2's being 375lbs heavier than stock.

Makes best power with good 1300* egt temps at 13.3afr which goes to show how evenly air can be dispersed and how measurably efficient the combustion chambers really are in the gt40p/explorer setups. For such a low end cam to like shifting at 6100 there is definetly gains to be had with a higher rpm cam but I wouldn't be able to resist reving it to the moon so I'll keep the xe258.

The RPM range maybe somewhat limited do the valve spring open and closed pressure. Creamy was running dual spring set up valve float at 6300/ 6400 RPM. Installed beehive springs from Crane and Moroso titanium retainers valve float is now around 7800 do to seat pressure around 130 / 140 lbs open 460 ish and the reduction of weight. Fortunately I can resist running higher RPMs until some other upgrades are done after blowing the rear at 7200 pedal to the floor shift into 2nd. Research reviled with current spring pressures could break factory lifters and or the anti rotation yokes.

What HP NOS kit are you going with as many have cracked the factory roller blocks with over 75 HP kits

After trying the kits thing when I was a youngin, I built my own nitrous setup running 2 bottles both with heaters regulated by a pressure transducer in the trunk, tee-d into a 6an line running up and attached to a ported distribution block with 2 of NX's really nice nitrous solenoids, a 3rd zex purge sol (used to be a 3rd shot on the button) and fuel sol directly threaded into the aeromotive fuel regulator body for constant air-less fuel for the wet system.

The ms3x currently kicks 1 60hp dry stage up 4" from the air filter (drops 100* IAT temps to 34*) in and fuels through the sequencial injection (hitting injector 98% duty holding 11.8afr which needs to be leaned quite a bit now that I have egt measuring installed) starting at 3000rpm (about 10ft after launch), then it kicks in the 2nd wet 75hp stage at 3300 through a NOS fogger nozzle. Seems to be the sweet spots for making the best use of weight transfer and the fast acting short upper arm 4-link setup to keep my back seat until it sees rebound adjustable rear shocks to slow that down...

At Least on the really limited street testing it seems to be the sweetspots to have decent traction, havn't brought nitrous to the track yet since the pre-car build 3yrs ago. Hopefully soon once the NA tune is perfected.

Was that at 4600#? What trans, gears and exhaust?

I'm surprised it wasn't running high 14's minimum.

A 14.2 on the other hand I'd be very happy with.

With the sub box, nitrous bottles, all the trunk stuff and gas I take out to race NA it's actually closer to 4400lbs to be more accurate but yes it did 14.9's at 4200lbs and 15.2's at the current 4400lb. Dyno'd that setup at 240rwhp (300fwhp) and 295rwtq.

Had what I still have frpp headers to 2.5 mandrel pipes/high flow cats/race bullets dumped at the axle, and my lentech wr aod trans, edge non-lockup converter that stalls 2700rpm at my power level, 3.73 gears with 30" tires which take the gearing back shallower a little.

A month ago on the new current setup it hit 290rwhp 325rwtq on a dyno set up at a car show when the car ran 14.5's. The 14.2's are about all she's got NA so I'de be itching to see a dyno sheet hitting the magic 300rwhp lol. Fingers crossed.

3.73 GEARS with 30" tires is equivalent to a 3.32 ish gear in comparison to the 26.7 ish factory tires. Any thoughts about changing gearing

The thought crossed my mind quite a bit before building the custom 8.8/9" in it now but I built the car over 3yrs specifically for a procharged+nitrous dart 408 (I set it up for the procharger F1 but the turbo idea won't stop nagging) to hit 1000hp which with traction being the limiting factor anyways it will work well with 3.30 range or likely even lower so it doesn't run out of gear once she's up and rippin.

It was pretty hard putting all that time and $$ into not-motor-stuff but she's ready to drop in the big beast when it's done. Plus it will always be a luxury street driver first and foremost so hanging in the low 20mpg cruising at the moment is nice.

I really want to build a box merc strictly as a track car tho lol... like baaaadly.

I should also add that with the standard geared aod I shifted at 6000rpm and that was a hair over 60mph... The wide ratio geared new aod does that shift at 45mph so that really goes a long way in getting the big old girl moving with gearing.
