Bobcat's '94 Eddie Bauer Bronco "Buck"

Well I needed a new daily and I found this truck on craigslist and it happened to be right up the road from my house. So I went up there an looked at it and ended up coming home with it all said and done for 800$. It's got 107,000 miles, everything works but just need a little cleansing. The truck has been used to plow the guys driveway for the last 10 years. The snowplow that came on it, is flawless and simply needs a coat of paint. I plan to sell the plow and hopefully regain what I spent on the truck. It's crusty but I don't care too much since it runs so quietly and happily. Being an Eddie Bauer, it got the "handling package" which came with quad shocks in the front and a 3.55? LSD out back. Both seats are lumbar and comfortable as hell.

Smells like rat piss but I still love it to death. So far it merely needs a brake line patched, all four shackle hangers and new shocks in the front. I already ordered everything the day I bought it and it is all supposed to show up tomorrow (3/11/16) It's a tiny truck with a big truck drivetrain, it's great.

She lights em up pretty good, relatively effortless as well. Obviously this was one of the first tests after taking the plow off.

I actually haven't worked on it much, other than checking out what I needed to order. The CVGT is getting most of the love right now since I want to get that shit done. But after an initial double check of the fluids, the tranny fluid smells perfect and looks bright and pink while the oil isn't black yet but is on its way to that point. I'll sort out minor details after I make it actually able to be safely driven. (All four shackle hangers are actually broken.. )

Check the ball joints up front nice and good, plows like that are really hard on TTB axles, especially the lighter D44 you got. Also may wanna pay attention to the wheel-side U-joints, even if you're not in 4x4 mode they still gotta turn when you steer and if they are binding this will mess up the steering.

And what engine does this thing have anyways?

A heavy plow and TTB D44, my favorite recipe. That front end is probably WASTED.

Just wait till it looks like mine.

        Nice Eddie Munster Bronco!
the car dealer i worked at in the 80's used to order two new broncos every fall. They would take the front bumpers off and put snow plows on them. plow the two car lots all winter, then in the spring they would take the plows off, put the bumpers on and sell 10-15,000 mile broncos.

i bought a 80 bronco from a friend years ago for 500 bucks. it was too rusty to save, so i parted it and sold the rebuilt 351w to a friend, then sold off the rest of the parts. I did have a 88 bronco II for a bunch of years tho.....,best 200 bucks i ever spent!

No 351 in this ole' girl. She's got the trusty 302, I'm completely satisfied with that, because I don't plan to use it for many towing applications or anything where I need those extra cubes. It's just going to get driven around when the box is down and likely woods beaten here and there. Obviously the box is more of a truck than this thing, since it does have a tree-fiddy-won in it. If I ever need to tow, I know what I'll be using! Just kidding, ain't no fucking hitch going on that new frame. I don't think the front end is in as bad as shape as I thought. Since the ball joints all seem tight, it goes down the road just fine and doesn't have any clunkiness. She's quite rusty though, after today's work I found out that the header panel has rotted a notable amount by the body mounts. Ehhhh it's fiiinneee.

I did the four front shocks on it today, found out the passenger side coil actually broke at some point (also had the shock that had rotted in half). I made a bunch of calls and tried to source a new one and had no luck, so I repositioned the spring better in the cup an put it all back together, drove it down the road with the new shocks and it seems to sit level but I suppose I should give it some time to settle in. I'll likely order new springs in the future, when I put a leveling kit or little lift kit on it - If I keep it for that long.

You should totally put a hitch on the box with new frame tho. Cause, better weight distribution and frame stiffening and stuff.

Tying the back end of the frame together is actually almost more useful than the hitch itself.

Whale frames already have a pretty solid brace back there. It seems Ford sorted all of my problems at once!

Bronco is currently sitting on stands in my driveway (Much like all of my vehicles at the moment) and awaiting some shackles. I thought I could slip by with just the shackle hangers. I likely could, but I don't care to struggle so I'll just replace it all.

The shackle hangers, spring hangers and shackles have been removed. That's how I spent my thursday night with my buddy.

Air hammers are fucking god. FUCKING GOD I TELL YOU. After spending a couple hours doing the rest of the passenger side, gaining all the experience from that, we moved onto the driver's side and had everything stripped off in 30 minutes. Today I'll probably throw it all back together and she'll be ready to slam through the woods.

Trucks: Go through woods, mud and are worked.
Cars: Do burnouts, speed and do burnouts.

This is how I live my life. Many broken parts at one time.

Love the stanced front end on the Bronco...

I'm looking for a clean white '92-'96. The hen's tooth would be a white 302/ 5 spd, (a 5 spd in general). I suspect I will have to settle for an automatic this time around.
