quiet duals are a thing. Honestly one of the big reasons I don't drive the Towncar much is the exhaust noise.

It's got $52 Primewell's on it now, so I think just about anything would be an upgrade. Will likely run these for a while. Eventually upgrade this, and put the $52 specials on the 88.

Near future projects for this car:
    • Lots of driving
    • paint faded interior hard plastics
    • fuel lines
    • seal for filler neck on the body side
    • pretty up the rear axle
    Farther out projects:
    • either replace the heater core or flush it
    • replace funky parking brake mechanism
    • possible dual exhaust (I really like the quiet stock single on there now TBH)
    • adding a third row should one become available

Last time I wanted whitewalls I gave up and bought boring old black walls instead. Couldn't find anything that wasn't just some incredibly crappy Chinese tire. It really would look better with them but I can't force myself to drive on horrible tires just because they have the right look.

I echo all the other comments- looks brand new and you did a fantastic job on it. I also couldn't put that much work into something and sell it. Like this red F-150 we've got, oh no, it's our pile of hot garbage. Although now, it's like your wagon, back online & turn-key drivable. As for the whitewalls, Coker tire? Might be expensive and not the best choice, but you'll have the look. I regret not doing whitewalls with the Town Car...

Looking good. Enjoy driving it. Not too many tire manufactures are making white walls anymore. Nexen was what was available for me locally. Soft ride, nothing special but they look good and affordable.

Thanks all. Hope to have a better photo shoot in the near future.

I do plan to keep it at this point. In 2016, I did have my mind on flipping it after it proved to be much better than a parts car. It's hard for me to put this much sweat equity into something and then sell it. People that do that are a different breed (no judgement). I want to enjoy it now. I've missed having a special interest car with enough room for five. Had some great weekend drive weather this fall and had to skip this car because it wasn't ready. Very glad it's back online.

Wow, that came out really nice! Hard to believe it’s the same car from the first post in this thread.

Six months after the start, this thing is back at the feeding ground.

Got some interior details to finish. Exterior is done, I suppose. Much need for white wall tires. I didn't even think about it when I bought these in 2020.

Otherwise, it's time to drive this thing.

It's done and ready to go on the car!

Thought I'd share what I have done to refinish the laminated vinyl aluminum trim common to 79-91 Country Squires. First off, you need to remove the aluminum trim from the car. Not going to detail that here. Next up, you need to strip the old vinyl and laminate off. My car was in a state of this already being stripped by

I know a pro could do better with the trim but it much better than it was.
