If you keep it consider getting a 140MPH CVPI speedo and doing the odo and trip gears in it instead.
And while you're at it change it over to a six digit odo. at the same time.
    nice wagon and easily fixed!

Looks like a gem to me! I hate the thought of these beauties going to the crusher, unless it's a totally rusted-out shitbox. Even then, let us pillage it for useful parts first

Her birthday is Saturday and I was going to get her flowers anyway...

I agree with the others, getting that window glass for the back door might be a bit annoying but should be do-able.
No plans for a daily yet. Until the red one gives up the ghost. IF I keep it for an extended length of time, it will eventually replace the red one but as a nicer cruiser that I can actually take to a cruise night without people vomiting over the wavy sides of the red one.

Unbelievably aggravating.
Going to try to clean it out, but I may just buy a new tank if its too bad. $115 bucks would be money well spent I think. Good tip on the filters - will get several.

I'd probably also get at least a couple filters. Maybe pull the injectors and clean the rails out, new o rings, and make sure the injectors aren't FUBAR. With the tank clean, rig the pump to run with the rails unplugged and make sure you're getting clean gas; flush the line so to speak. Provided the rest of the fluids are good, give it a whirl.

As for wifey not falling in love it... women! She's not my wife yet, but I got a heaping helping of nonsense when I brought my highboy home (probably because I still had my Dodge). "Why do you need 2 trucks and a daily driver???" I told her the Dodge would go as soon as I could sell it (and it did), but that I couldn't pass up on such a rust free example . Opportunity knocks but once, whether you have other stuff going on or not. When I sold the truck in October I think she was more upset than me. She will come around.

He probably was worried one of us would buy it out from under him. =-)

Not a bad score at all Tiggie.

You all are encouraging. My wife hates it! She wants me to get rid of it already, but that's not happening yet. If any of you are seriously interested in buying it at any point, please let me know. I really don't need another car but couldn't let this one die in a derby.

Luckily the seller cared enough to tell the derby guy no. There's a place for derby cars but not ones that are nicer than what we're driving!

Nice wagon for age, location and mileage! You did well - nice work!
I am thinking we may have some residue in there. Hopefully not, but I want to check. That stuff is sticky and I don't want it to hang an injector, or even a valve and bend pushrods. Had that happen on an FE pickup one time.

The odometer may have worked up until the point when the car was parked, but I'd bet a dozen doughnuts that it and the trip odo no longer work. You'll need some new gears if you want them to work.
They are getting rare around here. Especially the wagons. I've got inspection tickets that show very gradual mileage increases since 2004ish through 2008ish when the PO stopped driving it completely. It's different from what it reads now by a little bit, so I am hoping it's working. Previous owner that had it from Sept to now wrote 162,845 actual as the odometer reading. Too bad that's impossible with a 5 digit odometer, and inspection tickets to prove the odometer hasn't been changed recently. Guess I will have to title it as not actual miles instead of exceeds.

Yep. Wagon rear doors are different from the sedans. They're more upright in the glass.

I love a white wagon with wood on the sides. Combined with the red interior, this thing is sweet.

+1 on looking much better than expected based on your description. It may not be perfect but it's nicer than anything I've ever owned.
