New timing set and drive the wheels off?
1990 MGM: $50 E7 heads, HO cam, Holley SysteMAX lower intake, HO upper intake with an Explorer TB. LSC ECM. Lincoln logs into stock dual exhaust. K&N drop in air filter. Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

Daily driving this might be the new plan... Exploder is on its last leg. Sounds like it's about to send a timing chain into space. Whomever designed the 4.0L SOHC off of the old 4.0L OHV block needs to be publicly stoned to death. Gotta pull the damn motor to change them as one chain is up front, and the other is on the back! WTF?!?!

I think it needs a roller EFI HO swap. Yes, that would do nicely.

The wagon or sploder? lol, It'd actually be just as easy if I only went 2wd with it.

              Why not both?

This should be a fun experiment.

Feel free to move this to the appropriate forum and I'll just continue in this thread for the build progress.
