    Guys, I have a problem... (Jeff's 1979 LTD Wagon)

... I'm addicted to panthers. I'm taking a truck, trailer, and $800 cash to go look at this tomorrow.

Holy shit! Amazed there are any LTD-S wagons around..... let alone something mostly clean like that one. Demo derby folk descend upon older boxes like vultures to fresh carcasses. I really hope you can score that '79; she'd make a great stablemate to your '79 two door. That's an older 351 too, so it won't develop cracks like the later ones.

There's also a cleanish 79 2-eye 4-door within an hour of here too. for $700 That would be absurd to have all 3.

So, i really have no plan. The 2door is going to be a 500hp+ street/strip toy. So.... bag it, drag frame... or Lift it, and play in the dunes?

I recently learned that this nose was standard for '79, and that there was no such thing as an LTD S in '79. The four headlights like newer boxes have was an option though.

Someone in this thread probably remembers telling me this and I think this wagon would be awesome for him to get (if it's as nice as the ad describes and pics make it look).

It looks like it is a twin to the one I had. Mine was an ex Avis rent a car out of Los Angeles CA. The 351 was junk. Transmission was a C-4 in a wagon.
It was the S model. On the right side of the dash it said LTD S . The S had a square around it. Only options were side facing rear seats and a/c. It had many one year only parts which I hated. The green color you will get used to. It grows on you like mold.
You can get a nice shine on it as it is a solid non clear coat paint.
Mine ended up being a taxi in Mexico.

                THAT WAGON! WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could give a damn what's under the hood. THAT'S WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR. But dammit if I'm not broke (and it's too far from me). But if it's in good shape and you get it... look me up when you get ready to sell it.

That's a sexy mofo there, I'd totally buy it, and the aforementioned 4-door 2-eye you found as well. Shit, don't see this kinda stuff out here on the commie coast. Get super-clean old-people cars that their kids want 8 grand for, that's about it. Well, that and hammered Julio lowriders...

                    That wagon needs to happen.
1990 MGM: $50 E7 heads, HO cam, Holley SysteMAX lower intake, HO upper intake with an Explorer TB. LSC ECM. Lincoln logs into stock dual exhaust. K&N drop in air filter. Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

I don't think too many people can say they own two Panthers that came with SelectShift 3-speed automatics versus the AOD 4-speed.

Was it a 79? from my understanding the 'LTD-S' wasnt a thing till the Crown Victoria option/name plate came into play in 81? My 2 door has no S badge.

It was 100% a '79 Being the first year of the new body style, Ford made some things one year or even 1/2 year only. That made it a pain when ordering parts. The C-4 trans I thought was odd since it was in stock form was too light for a wagon. Nothing on that car was heavy duty and most everything was as basic as you could get. Am radio with one speaker, crank windows, no clock, bench vinyl seats, rubber steering wheel, no cruise, no tilt, no roof rack.
When I sold it, the big selling point was it was a non woody wagon. The taxi info could easily be painted on the car.

I've got some brochures and stuff and the 'LTD-S' is not mentioned for 79', all the options were there, just not grouped into a package. Pretty sure "LTD-S" as a package was not defined until the "Crown Victoria" name plate was the luxury package for the LTD.
