It could be the best riser shield, I'll have to look further into it, but it definitely has an exhaust leak- it sounds like a tractor.
One of the first things I'll do is that pre-72 timing set. I read that it's pretty much a night and day difference and quite affordable. I will have to learn how to recurve the distributor as I have never done that. I'm sure YouTube will be a big help haha. What an amazing tool the internet is.
I'm in the process of moving cities at the end of this month, so any sort of work to the car will kinda be on the back burner for a little bit, but I appreciate everyone's input. I can't wait to focus a bit more attention on her!

Went to the junkyard today, found a 77 ltd smashed up with a 400 in it. Good donor car to help build a dual snorkel intake.Click image for larger version

It just so happens that the holes line up perfectly for the snorkel to go on the canister side! I also pulled the ducting and entrance for the intakeClick image for larger version

Hopefully these pictures attached properly. Took off the hood to move around a little better.

Purchased a mallory distributor for cheap of kijiji. Any opinions before she goes in? Also got an edelbrock performer intake going on. I have my eyes on a nice set of chrome valve covers to polish her up a bit.

Took out the rad, removed the autolite carb that must've been recently put in by the previous owner. Just a factory spec 600 cfm 4 barrel spread bore by the looks of it. Going to have to replace that with something square. Going to start removing accessories to get at the water pump. After that a new cam and a pre-72 timing set will go on. I'll keep you guys posted as I go. Hopefully I can catch up to Grand1!

              Thats a very nice Lincoln!
I think that if I were going to change out the valve covers I would go with the factory 70/71 429CJ Aluminum covers.
Those are hard to beat on looks and always hold their value.

Thank you sir! I agree that those valve covers would be beautiful. If I can find some at a decent price I'll pick some up, that may be down the road though. There doesn't seem to be many parts of this vintage around here anymore unfortunately. There was just a big car show here this weekend, and I was actually just admiring those cobra jet valve covers on another car.

This may be a long shot, but I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I'd be able to find some early casting 460 heads in Canada? Shipping from the states isn't worth it at the moment, so if anyone knows of somewhere in Canada the info would be much appreciated!

If you asked a couple years ago, I could have sold you a pair of C9VEs, along with the rest of the 429 they were attached to. I let that motor go cheap...should have held onto it.
