Figured I better start one of these on the townie. 2001 Executive series just hit 110,000 today, everything works so theres nothing to fix. Theres a small crack in the front bumper and a little hole in the rear bumper, scratch or two here and there, but you can only see them up close. Gonna be keeping this one stock as I need a completely reliable daily driver. I got it all cleaned up today so I snapped a few pics, and I will be bringing it to SF this year. Enjoy!!!

Not much to report here. So far I've changed the oil once, cleaned the interior good, washed and waxed her once, and washed her many a times since the wax. I changed spark plugs 3 weeks ago, and replaced the screwy factory Clarion 6 disc changer with a NOS one I found on eBay, I found a local place that would repair/rebuild the original for $250-$350 depending on what the problem turned out to be, but I was able to score the NOS one for $175. I attempted to go back to air springs and ditch my coils but the compressor took a shit so I'm gonna stick with the coils. Future plans are to maintain her as well as humanly possible for a DD and to not drive this one in the salt, a winter DD is definitely going into my budget before salt season rolls back around.Last edited by mercurygm88; 06-08-2015, 09:31 PM.

Future plans are possibly factory duals or something equally quiet and thats about it. Yes I'm keeping her stock, and yes I know that thats boring, but hey I'm a boring kinda guy.

Wow, haven't seen a clean vinyl topped '98-'02 Townie in a looooong time. These were the last of the real Town Cars IMO.... anything after this looked way too much like a Crown Victoria or Grand Marquis. Love how the gold pinstripes match the gold vinyl roof. This one's been well cared for all its life.... and it'll definitely last seeing as how you plan on parking it indoors during the winter. And while stock may be boring, you don't have many outlets for big performance gains anyway; the 4.6 2V aftermarket is garbage. Stuff will cost more, and you'll have less selection relative to the pre modular stuff. Not like you're missing much.'89 Grand Marquis "Ebyt", '85 Grand Marquis "Eva", '94 Caprice "Kira"

Air springs are back in and working great, they've been in since Wednesday night and their so much better than coils. The air springs seem to make the ride a bit firmer, albeit smoother if that makes sense, and the auto leveling feature is just way too cool. Put weight in the car and turn the key on and it pumps up and levels, take the weight out and close all the doors and it vents and levels back to unloaded height.
