No cats required in Indiana, the mufflers are through holes that are large enough to open the hood. The irony is that the horns dont work at all.

Catalytic converters are required in Indiana, under federal law if they came equipped with them from the factory, the vehicle is required to have them. You may not have emissions testing or inspection but it's still required and you can face a huge fine for not having them if a cop is having a bad day. They don't check for them here, I got my truck inspected with a highflow and was worried that they may say it needed a stock replacement but never even checked under the truck at all.
If you can get away with it, more power to you but if you're charged you're facing a fine of almost $3000. It's your choice, but if you drive it a lot you might want to run your catless exhaust under the car, much smaller chance of getting caught.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

past 25 years in Texas... no issue... but I wouldn't be running stuff through the hood personally... but that's because I prefer the sleeper look.

I remember reading about this, but correct me if I'm wrong. The oldschool way to have your exhaust shoot flames was to drill a hole and mount a spark plug an inch or two from the end of the tailpipe, wire it to a toggle switch and then to the positive terminal on the battery. Rev the motor up and flip the switch and the spark plug would ignite the unburnt hydrocarbons in the exhaust and you'll be shooting flames out the back (or into the air as the case may be).

that's the basic idea.

I can attest to that. With cats and thrush weldeds on my 83 you couldn't even tell it wasn't factory exhaust.
Bad news though, your pic won't load.1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series - Charlene

I like the look, very cool.
The engineer in me wants to know how the mufflers are supported?
Me thinks without proper support, you may encounter low cycle fatigure issues due to amplified vibration.**2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302: 5.0/ 6 spd/ 3.73s, 20K Cruiser

If you can make the fronts not rub... do a write up on fitment.
