My BattleAxe is back on the road!

Hey everyone, consider this my introduction post also. I joined last month when I was doing some research on what I need to do to my car to change somethings on it and never got around to posting an intro. Anyway, long story short, I got a lot of work done with her and she's back to DD status.

My name is Nick &I work at a small independent NAPA Autocare Center. Long story short this 90 TC was towed in where I work for a no start condition. The guy who had it had died and his family didn't want the car anymore. The car had sat outside on a concrete pad outside his house without being driven regularly for 15 years. When I turned the key on to see the mileage, I almost fell over: 55K. Thank god it had a digital dash, cause I would've never believed it. To make a long story even shorter, I bought it for a 150 bucks. It ended up needing a starter solenoid, so 30 bucks later she started. The air ride lifted. Awesome.

Well, over the past three years (besides doing a tune-up when I bought it), she has given me basically no issues until the end of this summer. So I finally got around to doing some maintenance to her.

New vacuum lines, TPS, vacuum lines, radiator, coolant hoses, P/S return hose, air ride suspension lines, shocks, and some other shit I'm sure I forgot… I have a happy Town Car again. On a side note, I'm glad that it now has turbines!!

So, some before and now pics.

Cool. Lots of "get this out of my yard" stories with these cars. Its kind of funny how divided people are about them. Its either a cool car, or an old piece of shit. Not a whole bunch in between either.

'90s are one of the best TCs! Mine just turned 200k, desirable Lincoln logs, fan shroud, etc. I'm sure she'll give ya many more years of faithful service.

Wow, you made off like a bandit with this one. $150 won't get you any '90 Town Cars around here, not even a toilet. Looks to be in fantastic shape for the age. Rust-free too! Love how the 4th picture makes it look like a two-tone car.

And digital gauges FTW. They were standard in '90. Could probably delete for a credit. Good thing most people just kept it!

I'd at least sand that roof rust clean and sealer prime that and rattle can some duplicolor on it... other than that... awesome grab.

Thanks everyone! I love this car..... my mom had a 92 while I was growing up and I'm really partial to the 90-92 TC's. I had a lot of good memories in that car, learned to drive in it, learned to parallel park in it, had a lot of fun with that car. Anyway, I was thinking about having the whole car painted end of this year or beginning of next year. If that ends up sitting on the burner, I am gonna sand and primer the roof.

Anyone on the board with a Woodrose colored TC?

If you primer the roof you must paint it as well. Primer is porus. You will just promote rust leaving primer out in the open.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking. Well, I'm gonna have to do something with it.
