I considered a '95 that color when I was shopping for my GMQ. Passed it up because it had rust, straight pipes, and I didn't really want another red car. Yours is in a lot better shape than both the CV I passed up and the GMQ I ended up getting. Sweet!

I'd look at it (the car) myself but too far to drive it back.

Pulled the old trans yesterday, swapped over the governor to the rebuilt trans I pulled from my old 91 GM. Looks like Ford just slapped an HO high speed governor in the bastard blocks. Also have a 2k stall convertor laying around I'll throw in, I figure a stock box one would only make the no low end 4.6 that much worse.

Today I repaired the pass side bulk head and ran some new brake line, new lines to both fronts, and a new line from the splitter to the m/c. They were originals and very sketchy looking to say the least. At least this car doesn't have the ABS clusterfuck like my old one did. Rear line was replaced and looks ok still. Fuel lines have also been patched and look okish for now.

Pass side bulkhead after cutting out the rot: I actually ended up cutting some more off so I could more easily weld a plate over the hole on the inside part of the rail.

And after a lot of cutting, welding and grinding, good as new:

Thanks for that bit of info, I had been wondering about WOT throttle shift RPMs with an AOD backed 4.6. Now I know where to find an HO governor.

Now to see how much the junkyard will charge me to pull it. If they even will.

Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

                        Thanks Gabe.

After getting the trans in yesterday made a JY run today. Grabbed non leaking p/s reservoir, some spare headlight clips, and a heater hose, no 92-97 aero Vic's in the yard unfortunately, just TC's and GM's. Oddly a few where HPP's and I saw 3 HPP whales. Also swapped in my 87's blower motor resistor. Sure glad Ford never really changed much on these cars.

Anyways I took it out for a quick run down the road and back, drives real nice, no squeaks or rattles, trans shifts great, 4.6 runs smooth as butter. Alignment seems decent, heat works good, A/C is unplugged, guy told me the compressor is shot, it's still full of R12 though so I probably won't dick with it.

Registered it and transferred the plates from the Battle Wagon onto it today. Took it for a nice 25 mile drive. Runs great, shifts great, handles surprisingly well, alignment is good, and stops damn good too. I'm honestly impressed by it. It's so quiet and smooth I found myself doing 15+ over a few times. Threw the check engine light twice, got home and got the paper clip out, good ole code 33. Jeez I wonder what it could be causing it....

I'll clean out the EGR passages and slap on a new fuel filter tomorrow maybe.

I plan to drive it through winter and sell it in spring once I paint the 91 wagon, though that could always change. Should be able to make a decent buck off it. Certainly drives like a 55k mile car should. Technically it's the lowest mileage car I own, the 85 has 56k on it. My Bronco only has 55k on it as well, but it doesn't count.

Seems like they haven't changed the yard much since I got parts from you last.

92 part deux! Not bad for 500. I like how clean it is.
