I want some of those wheels if/when I do a big brake swap on the 93.

Looked like it in the crappy pics from the ad.

If he took $600 for it, you shoulda offered $500. I think scrap for that is close to $400.. Wouldn't be out much.

if the frame really is solid... that rust can be fixed... but I would buy it to swap interiors and maybe drivetrain into a nicer car.

If its solid enough to pass inspection, its good enough for a winter beater if nothing else. Sometimes you don't need the right car, you need the "right now" car. If it lasts through a winter and can be scrapped for 400 bucks in the spring, thats pretty damn cheap for a few months of driving.

It's pretty rare to find a running and driving car for $600, no matter how much rust.

Frame and car are solid for the most part. Needs a radiator support because the hood latch is rotting off, could use a rear drivers door, still need to change out the passenger side exhaust manifold which is sitting in the trunk, and needs 2 fenders but thats it. Good on gas which is what i needed. Remote start is useful for the cold nights.

Averaging about 13.25 miles to a gallon so far. Mercury only was around 175-185 full tank to E at 11.1mpg.

Ordered the honeycomb grille and found someone with good clean light assemblies from an 11 and a grille emblem so i swapped them in and it looks good. Went to the junk yard the other day and pulled coils from an 09, changed the boots and springs and threw them in along with new plugs. Seems to run smoother. Got around to changing the driver front hub bearing and abs sensor, pads and rotors, and driver rear door so no more door with holes in it. Ordered in the new radiator support so waiting on changing that on a day off. Need a different latch though since the old one is sorta bad after the spot it sits in rotted away and moves it when the hood lifts.

I think there might be an issue if you are only averaging 13.25. My average city in my 94 is 18.5

I just pulled a junkyard fender for my GMQ. Haven't had time to paint it or put it on yet. It took me three 4-hour trips to the yard, so in a garage with an impact wrench and some PB-blaster I could see it maybe taking an hour to get one off. The bolts on the rocker panel are probably are probably pretty rusty, as are the bolts around the bumper. I'm waiting until I have a full day to swap it in.

I'm with killgore on this one. I've been getting around 18-19 mpg city, 22-24 combined. I know aeros tend to get better mileage than whales, but 13 still seems pretty low.
