Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to move on. The good thing is, you can strip her for parts, emblems, trim, anything that will help another car soldier on for many more years! I'm sure we could help you out here with a list of the rare or desirable parts to salvage if they're in good enough condition.

Two words: HOLY SHIT
So the new owner of Trin - my co-worker - came into work today and approached me like he was about to kill me. I knew from talking to the Russian mechanic who usually works on my stuff said the ball joints and lower control arms needed replacement, but...
The ball joints had NO boot left over them, were rusty and had more play than a used N64 joystick... and the control arms?
They had ROTTED COMPLETELY THROUGH - and somebody WELDED them back together! I'll bet it's the used car dealer that sold me the fucking car KNOWING the odometer was broken, KNOWING the EGR was fucked up and still ripping me off with a $1,000 sale price... I just wanted to.... SRHW%$YHW$%YWE%^YH#5h
THEY SOLD ME A DEATH TRAP! If that shit let go on one of my highway pulls... I'd be in a world of shit.

On a happier note, my brand-new Alienware 17 came in, 10 days earlier than expected! So life doesn't totally suck today.
Now one ponders, if he invests in fixing the suspension, maybe he'll keep her? She's now leaking oil from the main rear seal and oil filter housing so... we'll see.1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series - Charlene

Just wanted to update, Branko replaced her lower control arms with new loaded units.
At this pace, she may last the winter. He also replaced the oil filter housing gasket, so no more oil leaks!1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series - Charlene

Maybe not. Branko ended up buying his friend's '02 Crown Victoria and is looking to dump Trin ASAP.
If anyone's interested, $800 takes her. Still has that NPI smoke, but the car's now safe to drive. If nobody comes around with that number, she'll be scrapped. No feelings gained or lost.1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series - Charlene

Well, she served her purpose - and now she'll probably be made into a new car.
Branko picked up a '02 P74... way better shape. And put her to the crusher.
Time to get Charlene on the road.1997 Lincoln Town Car Executive Series - Charlene

Also, I really need help finding that reflector for the trunk. All my searches are turning up dry. If ANYONE knows someone who has one, or has an extra laying around they'd like to sell, please give me a heads up.
I also need one center cap; Only 3 wheels had the center caps with them.79 Grand Marquis
