New Ride 92 Mark VII LSC

well tuesday i said farewell to my town car and traded it for Skips Mark VII. This mark use to belong to Scott Piazza and my plans are to fix the little things thats wrong with it. I grew old of my towny and i wanted to try something different for a change i will get another towny one in much better shape than my old one in the future but i wanted something different from a panther for now. I still have my bill blass mark 6 thats not going anywhere thats gonna be my go fast toy. so far i like driving the mark vii its very peppy compared to my towny needs less work than my town car does mostly electrical problems and a fender.

pics will be uploaded tommorow hopefully.

few things i do need help on since im new to mark vii's. the tripminder is going beserk by going on and off and keeps resetting itself, overhead console doesnt work, door locks dont work but i can hear clicking coming from the trunk i thinking its the keyless entry module is bad since that doesnt work, the fuel gauge reads funky i filled the tank up and it only read 3/4 of a full tank. the drivers power window dont work though i hear the motor making clicking noises so i think the switch is bad. passenger side one works fine. has coil spring conversion already on it. whoever designed the cupholder on this car needs to die i think its stupid the cupholders are directly above the window switches. other than those little issues the car is fun to drive. also the rpm gauge bounces when i shut the car off then goes to 0. i read that there is a ground wire that goes bad and makes the instrument cluster go nuts. i heard the fix is by tapping into that ground wire its an orange wire located in the drivers kick panel and making a new ground for it. has a brand new fuel pump in it and fuel filter runs great.

the tachometer doesn't rest on zero with no power. It doesn't have a spring in there, and it rests pretty much wherever it wants. The ground wire thing fixes the tachometer and fuel gauge going to zero when you turn the lights on. Most 91+ don't have that problem anyway.

the tripminder, fuel gauge, and probably the overhead console are circuit rebuild things. I fixed the gauge in my car by rebuilding the board on the back of the cluster. It was doing the same thing, a full tank read a little over 1/2 and it would slowly increase to about 3/4 as I drove, then head back down again. Under 1/2 tank it was reasonably accurate. A few new caps in that anti-slosh module and it works properly again.

If you hear clicking noises coming from the drivers side window motor when pressing the button I would have to say the bushings in the motor are in need of replacement.
