    The 88 P72

I haven't even thought of a name for this one yet, but it's only purpose is to go fast in a straight line for dirt cheap. In other words, it's already my second favorite box.

Somehow my half-joking reply to Pete's post of who wants to buy it escalated into a 1200 mile trip in about a weeks time. There was also no planning involved what so ever. I simply asked my buddy who went on the Battle Wagon adventure if he wants to go get another POS, sure enough he was hyped. We left my place at Midnight Friday night, arrived at Pete's around 10 and headed home around 11, finally arriving home ironically at Midnight Saturday. No sleep, both of us were up 40+ hours with nothing but Waffle House and Five Hour Energy for nutrition. Besides for a nasty bad snow storm for about ~200 miles in PA the trip was pretty smooth. Even without OD, the car got 16mpg doing 70 most of the way. It actually runs great. The Wagon would walk it, but it would blow both doors off the Tudor. It also handles damn good too.

Video of most of the trip back (watch full screen 1080, jewtube really kills it otherwise)
Lynchburg, VA to somewhere PA (wherever the gopro's battery finally gave out)

Very dangerous. Long haul truckers are the only people I know that might do that.

Congratulations on the new ride. It would seem you are aiming to corner the market on rust free panthers!

I just have to ask, though... Do you have a dealer or transport plate? I mean, I've done the "across town" trip in an unregistered car, but I can't believe you'd have driven 600 miles that way. Did Pete keep the reg on there?

You can respond via PM, if you wish to "protect the innocent."

That takes some real stones to hop in and drive an older, unknown car 600 miles. I must be a wimp....when I purchased Michael's P72 I opted a for a flatbed for transport rather than driving it fearing a possible breakdown....and that journey was only 80 miles.

If I had as much room as you did I definately would have more boxes. It looks like it'll be a nice project. What are the plans for it?

It wasn't bad at all, only ~20 hours of driving.

Pete was kind enough to let me "borrow" his plates for the trip back. Eric was kind enough too when I bought his 89.

Both the 87 Colony Park and the 91 CV Wagon I got transport tags for.

Well, at least I knew this car ran and drove. I was a little worried about the lack of OD, but I just pretended it had a C4 instead of an AOD.
The 91 wagon I drove back 900 miles was a little riskier, it hadn't even ran in well over a year when I bought it.

Be careful using wrong tags on another vehicle as you could get busted for fictitious plates. At least in Ohio, I've read you're supposed to drive it home on just the signed title if nothing else.

It's actually not as rusty underneath as I thought it would be. Looks pretty clean actually. For a car that's 25 years old it's very clean. Those bucket seats are tits.
