1990 CVPI 5.8L Work In Progress

Hello folks! Took a few pics of one of my Vics. Right side with Eagle GT BSW tires (BUSINESS) and left side with a friends WSWs and 92 Lincoln Wheels (Pleasure). What trips your trigger? Trying to decide myself. For sure, the right side configuration drives MUCH better with the extras that a Police Package has with it.

1990 Crown Vic Police Package (non-S model)
    5.8L Engine with 129K miles
Only two previous NC owners (NC Highway Patrol and dad)
    Recent work:
    Repair DS Frt PWM
    Patch Fuel Tank
    Wiper Blades
    Fram AirHog Air Filter
    AC O-rings, Springs, R12
    AC Orifice Tube
    AC Filter/Dryer (Accumulator)
    Belts
    Front Brake Pads
    Valve Cover Gaskets (Ford F1ZZ-B)
BSW Goodyear Eagle GT 6-ply HR tires.
    (4) New Headlights

Use the PS tires and wheels. Ditch the full wheel covers, paint the wheels black, and go with the large polished center caps.

Drivers side is much more appealing. Looks great from that side.

I think the lincoln wheels look better.

I actually like the whitewall side with the Lincoln wheels but those tires would have to go (21570r15 uniroyals t rated). The PI package is somewhat negated by using mushy tires with a single ply sidewall. It's hard finding a 22570r15 with guts let alone whitewalls. Years ago I ran some 22570r15 VR Goodyear Eagle RSA tires. Now those tires would allow you make hard turns! I'm thinking about showing this car at a local event in two weeks.

Our NCHP didn't ever run the "dog dishes". Only county and city units did. Looks nice on your unit though!! Not looking at purchasing more 15" stuff at this time. If I keep this car, it will get a +1 or +2 upgrade so I can find a better tire.

Blackwalls and neither of those wheels. 16" steelies and 98-02 style centers would be my preference if you aren't going HPP or something else of that nature. Never been a fan of whitewalls unless its a 50s car that belongs with them. They're just annoying to keep clean and end up looking dingy most of the time. Same reason I'm not much into RWL tires, that and most of the RWL options are on crappy tires.

The Lincoln wheels are eye catching and look good and different. The full wheel covers look good but it is easy to lose one.

Those full covers are easy to loose, and they are heavy too.

I agree with this, and is what I ran a long time ago on an older P72:

If I still had the car, I would probably run 17" Cragar Soft 8's if the original Ford center caps fit:

There are no bad ideas! The Lincoln wheels are great but you should have seen them before I spent hours on them with "Bar Keeper's Friend". All those nooks and crannies!!!! As for the full Ford covers, I have a stack of them but I've driven these cars 100s of thousands of miles and never lost one. I had to have words with a tire jockey once about dropping them on the shop floor. Also, still having heartburn about which units to sell.....just can't keep them all as much as I'd like to. Too many toys

To each their own. Regardless, that is a nice car whether it's a resto or a hot rod project.

Thanks Bobby and all. I really appreciate these old boxes. Put a new TV bushing in (could not find the brass one) today. Drove the ole gal around town tonight and bought some ice cream.
