My 1982 Lincoln Mark VI Bill Blass Designer Series(Larisa)

so today i purchased a 1982 bill blass mark vi me and john sexton went to go see if we could get it to run wasnt a complete failure but the cfi on this was extremely shitty got it to fire the old cfi unit ran only one injector so we swapped the cfi unit from a donor mark vi at first nothing swapped computers and it fired up on both injectors ran like shit and would not stay running everytime putting it in gear it stalled. rear brakes were locked up so we freed them(The brake spring was wrapped around the axle o.O) still tried to get it to move but the eec iii and cfi was being retarded did not like giving gas at all would bog and backfire with flames. so we made progress on it came to the conclusion next time we go there were going to convert it over to SEFI right at the yard. the people at this junkyard are extremely nice and let us get parts free since i bought the car. shes in rough shape needs a good wash and wax when she does eventually come home but here is Larlisa. the frame on her is very clean no rot and hardly any surface rust. so at one time the car was taken care of till a kid got it and let it become crap. i plan to restore this. This was the worst cfi bullshit i dealed with so im glad were swapping it to sefi. Stay tuned for updates.

Good grief, look at those tires! I haven't seen BFGs that had that kind of lettering for probably 25+ years!

Get a 2bbl off a junk truck, at least then it'll drive.

Cant stand carbs I rather go SEFI and john says this should work well snce he has a cfi eec iv distributor.
We jst need to swap intakes with a sefi panther, sefi valve covers and a eec iv sefi harnesses.

I don't like carbs either but a working carb is better than a dead CFI. I wish it were that easy to get my car running.

i like my carbs. may be a little harder to start in the cold. but by god you dont gotta change a sensor after each modification. lol (that of course being an exageration) its just simpler for ME anyway..

I've been liking those Mark VI's more and more now. A SEFI conversion will definitely do her good! I bet it will give you better gas mileage too.

I will say that EEC-III CFI cars are fuckin weird. I've never seen a gas engine that had a thread on fuel filter... It looks like a god damn oil filter. Car runs like dogshit. When it does allow itself to run. I've also never seen a brake spring wrap itself around the axle before. The interior definitely needs to be cared for. The exterior needs to be repainted, but not much rust. Undercarriage is eerily clean and straight.

quick carb it to get it home so you can do the SEFI conversion in a leisurely fashion.

probably because you had eec IV cfi which will run much better than very early EEC III cfi and i mean this was early cfi becuase it had the odd ball cap and rotor which was fucking wierd as ever. My 83 was eec iii but was later eec iii and had a normal cap and rotor.
