yeah, you can snatch the MAF connector from another car. You just need a couple of pins to actually connect to the ECM. You can snatch those out of any EEC-IV ECM connector, or you can buy new ones from oldfuelinjection.com if you want. They also sell (or sold) a MAF conversion kit thats essentially the MAF connector, some wire, and the pins to actually plug into the ECM connector.

I wouldn't rule out the mass air needing a tune either. Actually I'd probably argue that it ought to have one to run optimally. Just many people aren't as familiar with tuning the non mass air ECMs. I really don't have any particular believe that mass air inherantly runs better than speed density if both are tuned properly. In fact you could probably make the argument that SD is likely to make a bit more power since it doesnt have the restriction of a MAF in the air pipe. The only thing I will say is that mass air tends to be more flexible in regards to what it will deal with and still run decently without any sort of a tune than speed density is.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
