Don't know if ANY modern oil has much zinc. There must be an additive for use with classic cars, though. Some companies are good enough to provide this info so pick a few, go to their web sites and ask...

Hey Pete you have any Barge steelies? I need one with the raised 4 nipples for the big style dog dishes. My 77 only came with 3 steelies (and 1 donut) lol.

For the record, A shit ton of GM 1500's have the 5X5 bolt pattern. That's whats on the front of my Barge right now.

And wow, that rear window rot is nasty! Down with vinyl!

Thats right, GM trucks have the same pattern. The mid 90's chrome slotted rims would look good.

You're right there's a zinc additive out there but I forget what it was called. I'll look it up.

I'm still not sure if I should have a new vinyl top put on the Lincoln or not. I really like the way a vinyl top looks.

I think I know which rims you're talking about, those would be really good for a muscle car look.

You're right, that Mobil 1 High Mileage is good stuff, looks like it as the highest zinc content out of any oil today. Only problem is that its like $35 for a 5qt jug, $8 a quart, and the Lincoln goes through a solid quart every 3,000 miles. I'm not sure what to do.

You said the Motorcraft FL-1A filter would be the best one to use right?

You could go with a much cheaper oil and then add the additive, if you wish. Or find somewhere with chaper Mobil 1.

The only chrome Chevy truck wheels I know of are the Sport/454SS wheels, which are 15x7 like all the other 88-98 wheels. I think the steelies with trim rings would look good on it as well but alloy's are lighter.

Also you could use the 73-87 "rallye" wheels, they're steel but they're 15x8 so you can fit wider tires.

Yeah that's the Sport/454SS wheel alright, the 454SS had a black center cap though, looked badass. Like I said those are 15x7, not 15x8 like some references say. They're 8 inches from rim to rim but if you measure from the inside rim edge to edge like all wheel manufacturers do now, they're a true 15x7.

Interesting, I think I'm going to stick with the original hubcaps, but those would look good. I'd really love a set of those deep dish aluminum wheels.

The Lincoln's still in the shop, should be done in the next couple days. I still can't decide if I should get a new vinyl top or not, I really like the way they look, but I'm worried about rust issues.

It took over 35 years to get that way. I would go vinyl, its just meant to be there.
