So I am a foxbody mustang guy but always like old school vics square cars are real cars. So I stumbled across this gem by accident and bought her now she is my daily and I sold my honda . SO she has 62k miles mint brown interior original white paint and I want to keep her as stock as possible but make her handle better, already ordered a ton of parts engine gasket kit she pissing oil from some where so I will replace them all, double roller timing chain, new motorcraft pump, power steering pump and lines, radiator hosed plugs, wires, the original 1986 wires are still installed and all the regular tune up stuff. So while the engine is apart I will degrease and paint it to make her look young again any info is greatly appreciated as I am new to box panthers. I don't want to add any performance to the motor thats what my mustang is for hehe, but she need dual exhaust what do you guys think of this setup. http://www.ebay.com/itm/190344053588...ht_2127wt_1397 just want a nice cruiser, will be posting more pics soon

Within the next few weeks I will tear the engine down and put new gaskets, change fluids and tune her up and build a custom headlight harness for h4 conversion (more on that later), so after the motor is squared away I need to deal with the rear its leaking from seal. The question I have is what locker to go with I checked the code on the door it has 3.08 open so I am thinking 3.55s I hate not having traction lock88 Mustang lx 4cyl converted to 351w efi (Foxy)

Nice car.
A 3.55 trac lock is a good rear end. Most modified street Crown Vics have 3.27-3.73's.
Have you considered getting a winter beater? If mass means massachusetts it'd be a shame to put a 62K 2dr in decent knick through those winters. Obviously that's not always an option though.
As for the exhaust, if it's a northern car all it's life you may want to look at replacing everything behind the manifolds. The cats and where the air tubes connect to them are common leak points. That e-bay piece appears to essentially be a mild steel stock replacement with verrry mild performance mufflers. Not bad, per se, but for a winter driven car you may want stainless or aluminized (which that appears to not be) and for a litttttle more performance and sound you may appreciate different mufflers. If you don't mind a short lifespan and minimal performance gains, go for it. It's a reasonable price if shipping isn't massive.

Jeeze Louize that's a nice/clean Crown Vic!!! There are a lot of threads on going duals with these cars. It all depends on what you want for your car; and what you have to spend on it.
You may want to get a winter beater as these cars don't fair too well in the winters; unless you're very meticulous about keeping the car clean during those cold months.

She wont be driven in the winter, she will be stored like the stang. I want to keep the original paint as long as possible, I will probably get a 4dr vic or marquis with snow tires for the winter, already found a few nice ones for under a grand hoping to snag one for $50088 Mustang lx 4cyl converted to 351w efi (Foxy)

Yes. 4 door with trac-lok and a set of Firestone Winterforce tires and have at. I swear by mine. Lots of fun with the trac-loc too. I can understand not having a LSD.
Looking good!
Any pics of the stang as well?

I will be making my own headlight harness out of 10 gauge wiring and 4 relays and a dash switch this way I can run all 4 lights on low beams or all four on high beams. I already made a diagram of how it works now I just need to build it.88 Mustang lx 4cyl converted to 351w efi (Foxy)

I hope to be tearing the engine apart this weekend waiting on timing chain and gasket kit dont like my stang to sit outside and get rained on if I can help it lol. I also found a 3 gauge 85-87 police gauge cluster that goes on the passengers side dash with original amps, water, and oil gauges so I will restore it all to look new, question is what oil pressure sender do I use with the oil pressure gauge, I also found some stainless steel rain guards.88 Mustang lx 4cyl converted to 351w efi (Foxy)
