yeah... that claim is now closed. Now to try to get the info about the driver's insurance out of them. If they won't play, I'll just Let State Farm's lawyers pry it from them.

      update:

Enterprise's damage recovery unit is going to sort my truck. Their appraisal consultants should be contacting me tomorrow, since they didn't contact me today, to set up an appointment to inspect the damage to my truck.

appointment set for Monday morning at work. I should know by the end of next week whether I'll be totaled or driving a rental on their dime.

I'm sure you know this already, and much of it doesn't apply, but I'll post it anyway.
The people coming to visit you tomorrow, will probably want to ask you a bunch of questions.
They'll be sympathetic, and friendly. But you can tell they are lying whenever their lips are moving.
Their job is to trick you into saying anything that can be twisted to limit their liability.

State the basic facts and refuse to elaborate. Refer them to the video.
A lot of folks threaten to lawyer up, but the people you deal with really couldn't care less.
If you do get a lawyer they are not allowed to talk to you anymore. Even if a communication is completely
permissible, they'll go through your lawyer for a couple reasons. #1 it keeps them from making a mistake.
#2 It will increase your legal fees, which will (from their viewpoint) take some of the fight out of you, and
make it more likely that you'll give up and take whatever they offer.

That could have been worded a bit better.
That's what I get for posting while sleepy. LOL.

I've never had an adjuster ask about details of the accident. They are usually inspecting the car to get an approximate amount of damages.

This. If they do, I'll just show them the video. I've been in over 30 fender benders including 10 damaging wrecks. 1 of those, the car didn't drive off. I've dealt with this BS before, more than a few times.

I have... Granted it was 1995 but they pretty well robbed me blind. My wife worked in the insurance industry for years. It's not standard practice but it still happens.

Thanks for the info, I had never heard of them doing that. If the situation ever comes up I'll be prepared.

well... sold the truck today... damage and all. $1300 cash. After I get the last insurance check, it'll be total about $2700 in pocket for that truck. Minus what I put into it (save gas and maintenance) I'll make out $300 ahead.

And I still have the toolbox as a back-yard toy-box.
