    Sly's beater F150

Bought the beater truck off my dad. Replaced the front shocks (bounce? not any more!), bled the brakes (it actually stops now... this is a plus), fixed some rust on the roof (navel jelly, sand paper, near color primer), and jacked with the AC (needs a new pressure switch) but the compressor (new) is bad, so I've gotta get with my dad and get that returned/replaced. Driver window motor needs new plugs (gonna go get ball bearings sometime this week). It does stay up though.

    Pics:
Spare on front currently. It needs new tires.

If you look real close... you might be able to see the excess paint covering the spot where the rather large rust spot was. I forgot to take a before pic (BAH!)

    Another usual rust spot fixed

Rear (straight pipes... and those pipes are THICK)

Front (little beat there on the passenger side... meh... it's a beater)

dents in the front, driver rear of the bed (behind the wheel), passenger side behind the passenger door on the cab (not pictured), and redneck paint job covering quick rust repair.

The passenger front fender is not in the best shape, but it looks ok. This truck was hit HARD in the passenger front corner. The frame might be tweaked a little. The passenger headlight flops around. I may see about new headlight assemblies for this one since one is broken and they're both yellowed. At least it has the vent windows and window rain guards so I can leave the windows cracked and try to get the cig smoke smell out. My little brother smokes like a damn chimney.

True. Southern trucks are a little less prone to the dust to dust thing.

Thanks. It'll be nicer once the AC works. I'm contemplating saving up for a front diamond plate bumper (black one).

down here... this is a beater... a work beater is a trashed bed and a few more dents.

Good luck with it. I like that generation F150. I wanted to get one when I was looking for a beater truck 5 years ago, but the S10 I got fell into my lap from a good friend's family at a cheap price.

Nice truck! Yeah, I think you need a few more dents with rust/rot to call it a beater. Putter Project is beginning to look like a veteran rock crawler nowadays.

that's a nice truck. Around here it would go for money. That rust free is rare. The idea of "just surface rust" is bizarre up here because surface rust rots through in no time.
