Aso, the battle wagon is alot more awesome in person than you lead us to believe. I still can't believe you drove it all the way to Detroit knowing it had a knock.

Lincoln Logs are a direct fit.

It's just your typical lopo knock, I'm not scared. Bottle of Lucas and forget about it. I do so many WOT runs everyday....

fords need oil flow, not oil pressure. as long as its got oil and the pump moves oil it will run. When the replace engine light is on constantly at highway speeds though, its generally an indicator that you may wish to consider planning to fix or replace the motor. once the knock starts, you only have 100k or so to think about thinking about this.

it seems true enough. When I got the wagon it had rodknock. 15k later it sounded the same but the tranny was dead. It was either new drivetrain or the scrap yard. If it had been a general motors or chrysler block I don't believe the motor would have lasted that long.

My fault the tranny died, I should have known better and put in a tranny cooler right off the bat.

yeah, chevys need oil pressure. I remember putting in a boat once with a 350,. Fired it up and it read no oil pressure. Oil level was OK, motor sounded fine, and the electrical wiring was bad f'd on it so I just assumed the gauge was broken. I let the owner know and he said the gauge hadn't been working for a while, so we thought nothing of it. A week later, we're pulling the motor out of that boat because it had a knock so bad I thought it was going to eject parts from the block moving it from the slip to the boat ramp. Bottom end was completely wiped out, bearings so bad I could take the rods and slap them around against the crank once the pan was off. When the new motor went in, the oil pressure gauge worked fine, so that 0 psi was correct.

My truck's 206k mile 305 reads it has higher oil pressure than the 4.8 and 6.0 liter LS trucks at work. Still runs like a champ and gets good mileage, I have no legit excuse to spend the money to put a 350 in it and I want one, this 305 just won't die lol.

Anywho, chrome and gloss black wheels with RWL tires are my favorite, those look tons better than the steelies, and the steelies looked good.

Hell if I know where I was. I just drove until I got to that address.
Ah, you were in my neck of the woods. I am not sure where you entered rte.22, but you probably drove anough distance to really hate that road. Still working on the CV, two weeks after I thought I would get it together and running

Still going strong, only thing I've done in the last few months is throw the snow tires on and an oil change, rolled 243K. Switched it over to 5w-30 semi synthetic Motorcraft since I can get it free from work, and it's a lot happier in the morning now.

It's too cold out to paint. Battle Wagon just keeps doing what it does best, being my reliable beater. It has proudly earned it's spot as my favorite car I own.

So your Mustang cast aluminum valve covers cleared the 1.7rr? Just asking because I am looking to do the same thing. And where did you purchase your injector rebuild kit?

Yep, the Crane rr's clear the Mustang HO, and the Cobra (essentially just the stock steel valve covers) just fine.
I'm actually back to the HO valve covers as I put the Cobra's back on the 89.

                              As for the rebuild kit,

I also do this as well. Does it help at all? Maybe, but it certainly can't hurt.
