That's the major problem with the Mustang pipes. My collector flanges (at the end of the H-pipe) and a few of the clamps are scraped up. Probably putting a good amount of stress on the exhaust system too.
I like your setup. What would be your thoughts about turning the turndowns toward the side of the car and getting these...... http://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS-Performan...53766/10002/-1
I think the angled tips flush alongside the bottom of the rear door (in front of the rear wheels) would look nice IMHO.

Ya, the drivers side of the mustang H pipe hangs real low for some reason., As for those tips, they have potential, but man 2 of those things cost nearly as much as my whole exhaust set-up!
So here's the exhaust all finished up, got it sitting the best I could, fairly level, and plenty of ground clearance.
Also did some work inside, got tired of the really badly ripped shifter boot, so stole the perfect one of my other 91, while I was in there, I found the bushing for the rod too also be completely missing (explains the floppiness of the handle), so I stole the one off the other 91 as well. The black steering wheel, blue shifter boot, and biege trim really help pull the steering column together
Nasty old boot:
New bushing well lubed:
Oh how pretty!
Also painted the window pillars that were all rusty and nasty:

nice work.
What's that bushing called? is it the one that goes when you have up-down play in the wheel?

Some updates on this beast.
Has about 240K on it now, I've put on about 12K of them so far. Not bad for what was supposed to be my winter beater, but has been my daily driver all summer. Since the last post in this thread I've added
-New water pump
-New inner tie rods
-New outer tie rods
-New adjusting sleeves
-New idler arm
-New pitman arm
-New gearbox
-Swapped over the "Cobra" valve covers from the 89
-Have been rocking the 87's rims and tires
-Swapped in my 91 Marq's mint blue door panels and other misc interior parts
-Electric fan
-Swapped in the 89's 25% under drive pulley
-Deleted to non operative EGR
-Various other tinkering/minor repairs/ addon's/shit I'm forgetting
I can't complain about this thing at all. Everything I've replaced is pretty much just wear parts, and really nothing desperately needed to be replaced. I've driven this thing to Detroit and New Jersey, and it didn't complain once on either trip. It still pulled down over 22mpg on the way back from Detroit, and that was at 75/80mph most of the time. It also just edged out a low mileage 03 p74 with duals in a 60-100 run (slowest race ever). The tires lopo still runs like a champ, even if it does sound like a diesel until it warms up. I have enough parts laying around to do 2 HO swaps are 2 explorer swaps, but I see no reason too, this lopo just keeps on chuggin.
Anyways, enjoy some pics.
Ugly wagon ass
Delicious still primered hood
Finally got 91 clears for it
What's that missing on the roof?
Still looks decent underneath, will get re-oiled again
Cobra valve covers
Electric fan is out of 92 Corsica with a 93 Century fan motor. I had this on my 87 Caprice for a while. It's wired into the Defrost switch (the rear window was tinted at one time, and whoever removed the tint also completely removed the grid lines) I actually have only had to turn it on maybe 4 times since I installed it. It's small but as soon as I turn it on it will drop the temp back to it's happy spot. Cool side effect of wiring it into the Defrost switch, when cruising over 40, it starts spinning and lights up the LED on the switch, it will obviously glow brighter the faster I go. It also lights up the LED as it spins down.

Question: (and I apologize in advance for the slight hijack) Do the '90 TC headers bolt up to the normal '91 style cats?
Aso, the battle wagon is alot more awesome in person than you lead us to believe. I still can't believe you drove it all the way to Detroit knowing it had a knock.-Steve
