Did some more work to it today. I decided that I guess I will make it all one color. I'm just going to rattle can the header panel and fender white, and throw the hood from my 91 marq on. So today I pulled both hoods, and gave the wagon a very quick wash. I need to clean up and paint the underside of the white hood, but the top is really nice (and dirty).

          MMMM very dirty lopo:

          "New" hood:

Need to clean up and paint the back:

when mine's out of smog inspection... the rest of the air injection will go that hasn't already rotted off. I will forever keep the AC though... Texas is hot.

hey pantera77, how does one remove that stupid smog/ac bracket? I don't want to get into removing things I don't understand, and the accessory brackets on the front of a 302 I certainly don't understand

Unbolt shit till it comes off

Finished painting the grille and headlight bezels with PlastiDip. We'll see how long it lasts came winter. I have no idea where the original 91 clears went, as the front end is off of a 88-90. The old turn signal lenses were really faded and stress cracked so I swapped in the old ones out of the 89.

Also, I think I decided I'm going to just paint the hood, fender, and header panel primer gray. I want children to cry when they see this thing. Also have 4 bright-as-hell off road lamps to mount in front of the grille.

You actually have to take the pulley off of the smog pump first.

This is true, also on this wagon, the a/c compressor was really rigged in there. Stacks of washers used as spacers between some of the bolts, mis-matched bolts, ect...

                              What was leaking? tstat housing?

I've got oil leaking into the same area on the timing cover. I'm almost positive it's the timing cover gasket but I'm getting ready to replace every gasket in there

We call that the Tommy technique, which explains why I don't take anything to him anymore. He was the main "mechanic" on that car before I got it.

Don't get me started on the metro engine he "rebuilt'.
