Lincoln Mark 8 in the UK................

Here we go again..........I've bought another one.
Bear in mind that this is the UK and to own 1 american car is quite rare, but I've got 3!!
Introducing my 1997 Lincoln Mark 8!

Is the black grille a standard thing or has it been painted?
    That is one sexy car!!

Tis nothing more than a Glorified, Lux'd up Taurus. I owned that model taurus as well, and it was horrible in every aspect of it's build quality.

    A Lincoln disgrace imo.

      you're thinking of the Continental^

The Mark 8 is on the same chassis as t-birds and cougars.

You gonna hook the air bag dumps and the compressor up to the key switch? So it lays out when you turn it off and raises up when you start it. A friend of mine had one set up that way.

yeah that is definitely not the Taurus. Its a pimped out Thunderbird, which is by far a better car to pimp out.

Looks like its in nice shape too, and I like that pearl color.

^Indeed. Was thinking that the Continental and Mark were still one in the same. Guess that changed after the Mark VI's time.

Still, looking at the pics of that car, it has many of the exact same Body and Interior pieces as my old '99 Taurus. So they must share quite a few parts between the two.

They have a similar body shape to the Continental of the same time period. Possible some of the parts swap over and to the Taurus.

The Continental and the Mark series seriously parted company in 1988. The 82-87 Conti was a 4 door Fox chassis car, the 84-92 Mark VII was a 2 door Fox chassis car. The 88+ Conti is a FWD car based on the Taurus. At that point it became an excessively complicated piece of crap. Nice interior, but its a friggin Taurus with all the electronical bastardry that makes it a Lincoln.

I found that weird both times I drove one, but they're still rather nice cars.

And lots quicker stock than some vehicles ......... :waiting:

                          Hi all.
Am i going to mod the air to slam it? Oh yes!!
No other plans but to bring it back to good shape. Oh, perhaps some bigger wheels and low profile tyres!

By the way, the Lincoln Town car is not mine! The photo was taken when I was picking the Lincoln up. The Mark 8 owners Dad owns that one and hardly ever drives it!!

I'll start a resto thread on the mark 8 soon. Already stripped part of the interior out and put it back!!
