What do you mean the oil almost completely leaked out? That would be a big oil spill under the car then?

I thought so! I decided on getting the starter kit since it's a small-ish job.. It comes with everything that i'll need for this one time. And I'll keep an eye out!

As far as the oil leak, well it's gotten down to below the "ADD" line. and has trailed under my car and down the to the wall of my garage clear on the other side of the passenger side of the car. It's SOOO much oil! I guess tightening wasn't a good idea :p Whoops! BUTTT I finally get my gaskets and every thing I need for the engine! I'M SO EXCITED!! I'm getting the POR-15 next wednesday I'll keep you guys posted...

p.s. I looked at my spark plugs today... They're newer and the ones that in nearly every thread on this site the most hated... flippin' bosch platinums... cooooool, oh and I took the air breather box out and the holding bracket for the air box so I can access that side of the engine tomorrow. My valve covers are rust bubblin' like crazy lol. But I'll keep ya updated!

That much oil on the ground couldn't be from the valve covers... maybe more like the oil pan main seal... the car just sitting in the garage there won't be any oil up in the valve covers it drains back to the pan...

OR that stupid low oil light sender or either one of the drain plugs...

Well like I said after I tightened the valve cover bolt(And i made them TIGHT)
It started poring... and I thought it was bad before.. I was think maybe the pcv valve was like blowing up after that lol but I crank it every few days to keep the battery fresh. But can't do that anymore.. Also when I would crank the last few times orange liquid comes out of my pipe. I thought it was condesation and rust in the pipe.. but I'm not sure.. oh well, hopefully all will work out tomorrow.

Oh, FordMan. What do you think of putting a weathersrip around the edge of the hood?

A little help.. because I don't know the build of my marquis yet, I had to guess the year for the gaskets.. Is there really a difference? If so then I'm going to have to take the VC up to autozone and look at both.. I also can't find the pcv valve, and the lower intake manifold... where is that? That's not the gasket I can see behind the exhaust is it? Trying to get this done before my show tonight.. ugh lol

The lower intake manifold is underneath the upper plenum...which will have to be removed to replace valve cover gaskets...as long as you ordered gaskets for a 5 liter around the age of your car you will be fine. The gaskets are the same for many years and models.

The PCV valve is in the lower intake right up against the firewall. May need needle nose pliers to get everything out.

I have the intake removed, and I took the plenum gasket out and got the VC out. So the pcv is on the same level as the VC or what? And the lower intake is right between the the VCs?

No way.. is this the hole? Because if is then nothing was in there... It was a wide open hole.. Which means I have no idea what is missing that should go here?

Okay, actually I discovered that the hose on the bottom of the intake is straight up hooked into the top of the awful Pcv valve, the top with outlets is gone and it's just into the top. But it doesn't have filter or grommet?

thats the PCV. also, if you removed that rubber grommet that the PCV sits in, you will find a screen in there. replace it. best way to remove it is either sharp needle nose pliers, or screw in a long screw to pull it out.

Well there was no groment, just the enclosed filter inside the pcv valve. Minus the two outlets. It's just a hose that plugs into it.. All my gaskets have been replaced.. So those I have to return. Is there any way you could explain what the pcv valve, possible send my pictures.. flippin' all data isn't helpful and I paid for that.. super lol

in the parts stores... it'll be a metal base with a plastic F on top. Pull the plastic part off and you get the PCV valve that works on the 302s.

with the plastic part removed... it should look like this:
