2003 Mercury Marauder (M75) This car was purchased brand new by me in late October at Formula Ford-Lincoln in Pickering, Ontario. This Marauder retailed at a price of $48305.00. All 2003 Marauders designated for Canada were standard with traction control and the coveted 6-CD changer, which can be found in the trunk. The only option on this Marauder was a trunk organizer, a $210.00 option, which allows you to organize items of odd shapes and provides a level surface in the trunk. 11,052 Marauder were built, with 470 designated for Canada.
Ford had redesigned the frame of the panther platform cars for 2003, netting a new hydro formed steel frame. The Marauder was delayed, and released in late 2002 as a 2003MY because of these upgrades. The Marauder won J.D. Power and assoc. Award for most appealing full-size car and the Marauder won top-five safest cars on the road. Unique to the Marauder were the exclusive 18" polished aluminum wheels, soft supple leather, Meg's exhaust tips and a monochromatic exterior.
Inside the Marauder, you will indulge yourself with an array of luxury features. The front seats feature power recliners and 8-way, power adjustment. The supple seat leather is aromatic, with the appealing leather smell providing pleasure to the senses together with greater prestige. The leather-wrapped steering wheel can be vertically tilted so that the instrument cluster panel is easily visible to drivers of all sizes. The instrument cluster has a tachometer -- a first for any panther. The gauges give the Marauder a sporting, fun-to-drive feel.
The Marauder dictates respect on the road. Most people try and get out of your way, they tend not to park next to you and even the occasionally police officer will wave at you! When a car is tailgating you, all you have to do is step on the gas a little, and the Marauder roars to life. Leaving them in the dust. With three-hundred horsepower and three-hundred ft pounds of torque that is expected.
With the Marauder suspension, borrowed from the Town Car and Jaguar, the Marauder takes sharp corners with ease and minimal body roll.
Without further-ado, here are pictures of my Marauder:
