Well, now you know if you ever find one, and it doesn't have a title, don't let that stop you. Even if you live in a uncooperative state, there are always Title Company Services.

Next step is to get her running, inspected for safety, and then tagged, and she is ready for the road!

I'm very tempted to go ahead and throw some money at the stock engine, to try and get it running, so that I can at least move the car around, and to my new 1400 sq ft. 3-bedroom brick house that I just bought last week. I'll be moving in February, and I really don't wanna be stuck having to pay the tow guy to move it for me, with his $10 a mile surcharge.

Just read this whole thread. Everything is looking great. This project is more worth doing than the vic LX you bought from me. What will happen to it now that teh Continental is #1?

Thanks Ben. I gave the Vic to Brandon which is the guy I bought this car from, for less than scrap price, since it was pretty much pointless to try and sell it to anyone. He wanted $500 for the car + $100 delivery fee, so I just gave him the Vic + $400 for the Mark. I believe that he kept the nice front end that came off my original Vic, the Trunk Lid, and a few other parts, and then scrapped the rest.

I would have loved to gotten to keep the vic anyway, but I am moving to a nice upper middle class suburban neighbor hood soon, and I can't have a bunch of project cars sitting around in my yard unfortunately. Once I build a garage in my backyard there to store them in, which will be happening soon, I can have as many as I want. The '80 2-door Mark VI is just such a rare car, I think I made the right decision in giving up the old commonly found '87 Vic for it.

                Interior Progress

Finally got my Trunk Lid Lift Shocks in the mail. They are Strong Arm part # 4874, and are available from liftsupportdepot.com or ebay, for anyone who is wondering. They are an exact OEM match in every way, length/width, etc. Lincoln Trunk Lids shouldn't be held up by prop rods.

(In southern preacher voice) PROP ROD BE GONE!!!

Trunk Carpet is in decent shape. Next I get to see whats under there.

Lincoln actually made mounting brackets for the Trunk Lid, instead of just using the inner support structure like the GM's & Vic's. Now I can take the Trunk Lid off and on, and align it freely, without having to worry about damaging the outer skin. Pure Win. Lincoln's engineers where actually thinking here.

                More to come soon.

The Mark is certainly worth having over the Vic. I'd have traded it day! The one the Vic had going for it was the trunk lid when I sold it to you and a decent shortblock. And a tripminder. Guess the Powerglide AOD finally is laid to rest.

All is well though! The Mark Survived!

Yea, it's nice to finally have a car that is already a True Classic, and will actually have some real value someday. As long as I can keep it mostly original that is, when you start modifying things the value goes down quick.

I'll be getting an Antique Auto north carolina license plate for this car as well!

                      Interior Progress

Here are the Clean Interior pics for anyone who is interested in seeing them. Mostly detailed and fully Clean of all dirt/grime/related nastiness, inside and out, which is what I wanted. Damn hard to clean a White interior spotless, I will work on it more little by little as time goes on though.

Gotta love all those Stainless accent pieces Lincoln installed on the Door/Interior Panels and Seats. Sitting in this Interior takes me back in time, I wouldn't want to ever change anything, not even the old incandescent light bulbs. Gonna have to install better speakers in here though.

                      Enjoy the pics!

I'm already working on the trunk interior, will have pics of that soon.

Yea, very hard to keep things white. The world is not nice to white colored things, lol. I get the feeling that no one ever smoked cigarettes in this car though, because all her interior leather/vinyl wrapped panels are still pretty white. The headliner and sun visors, not quite so much.

The lighted Mark VI in the dash trim does still work. I was pretty surprised the 1st time I hooked up a battery, cut the interior lights on at night, and saw it glowing green. Never even knew that was a feature on these cars. Pretty cool.

if you ever want to do a seat swap, red velour seats would look awsome in that car
