Yeah, I try not to break things as well, when I'm pulling parts for myself. Some people will go in there wanting like an ATC sensor or something, and so instead of taking a few screws out to remove things the right way, they tear apart the dash with a Claw Hammer. Destroying everything to get one part.

Quite a wasteful society that we live in here. Anyone who frequents junkyards knows this firsthand. Makes me sick sometimes.

You have no idea how many cars that were in much better condition than mine was in that gave up parts. More than once I wish I could have just bought the whole car out of the junkyard to replace mine with.

You'll find Mudflaps on just about everything here in the south. Not my style on a car, but they damn sure help to save the paint on your quarters.

They have some kind of stupid law here in the Carolinas, which says that the Junkyard can't sell any whole car to a customer. Once its out there, it has to be crushed. I saw an extremely clean '75 Continental Mark VI with the 460BB, the last time I was there which I really wanted to take home.

In other news, I just ordered a set of Motor Mounts from rockauto for my engine swap.

They are Anchor part# 2437 (right) & #2438 (left). Can anyone confirm for me that these are the correct mounts for this car, and the '91 HO 302 I'm dropping in there?

That it does. I got tired of seeing them up, so I disconnected the Actuator Rods from the doors, so that I could close them. Once I get the new motor in there to provide vacuum for the system, I will hook the rods back up, and hopefully the system will work. All the vacuum hoses are still in excellent shape, but using the Headlight switch as the vacuum control valve like they did, seems like an easy fail point to me. I could always cleanly delete all the factory vacuum stuff and install Electric Actuators, controlled by a Relay/Switch. I wanna try and get the factory system to work right first though.

This is non-designer series Mark VI. I need to get a factory brochure for this car off ebay myself.

Really? you cant buy a car straight out the junk yard? that's weird as hell since I bought my wagon straight out of a junkyard right here in Lexington NC. That doesnt make any sense unless he didnt have a title and didnt want to feel respoonsible or something. idk.

This was in SC, the guy said it was the law, but I've never checked on it myself. Never tried to buy one in NC yet, so I'm not sure. Usually don't see too many that I would want in the junkyards around here. If I knew the guy enough for him to trust me, I'm sure I could get the car regardless.
